"Captain Yusuke, this is Hisana's sister, Rukia. She will be joining the Kuchiki clan."
Byakuya Kuchiki, holding the hand of a visibly apprehensive young woman, introduced her to Yusuke.
Rukia Kuchiki was, in fact, a lively and bold girl. However, having lived her entire life in the Rukongai, being suddenly adopted by the legendary Kuchiki clan head as his sister was quite overwhelming.
Byakuya Kuchiki's perpetually cold demeanor only intensified her anxiety.
However, Rukia found it unusual that Byakuya was so deferential towards Yusuke.
During their journey, she had never seen Byakuya show such respect to anyone else.
He usually maintained a distant, aloof demeanor, even towards other captains.
"This is Hisana's sister. She truly does bear an uncanny resemblance," Yusuke remarked, offering Rukia a reassuring smile that eased her tension.
"Captain Yusuke, now that Rukia has been found, I believe it's time to release Hisana from her seal.
Seeing her sister should alleviate her suffering," Byakuya Kuchiki said, his voice slightly urgent.
Yusuke nodded. "I understand. Let's go now."
Yusuke followed Byakuya Kuchiki to the Kuchiki family mansion, where Hisana Kuchiki's spirit coffin was kept in Byakuya's bedroom.
The spirit coffin, composed of spiritual energy, remained unchanged from a decade ago, perfectly preserving Hisana's spiritual energy and life force.
Through the coffin's translucent exterior, Hisana Kuchiki lay like a sleeping beauty, seemingly ready to awaken at the slightest touch.
Upon seeing Hisana within the coffin, Rukia was awestruck. Although Byakuya had described her sister's resemblance, seeing a near-perfect copy of herself was still incredibly surreal.
"Is this really my sister?" Rukia felt a mix of emotions, unsure how to approach the sister who had abandoned her.
With anticipation in his eyes, Byakuya Kuchiki addressed Yusuke. "Captain Yusuke, I entrust this to you."
Yusuke smiled and approached the coffin.
Placing his right hand gently on the central sealing inscription, a surge of powerful spiritual pressure flowed from his palm into the coffin.
"Spirit Coffin Seal…Open!"
As Yusuke spoke, the silver-grey inscription glowed gold. The four spiritual chains binding the coffin pulsed with energy before retracting into the inscription.
Once the chains were fully retracted, the golden light faded, and the coffin dissolved into shimmering spiritual energy.
A worried Byakuya Kuchiki immediately rushed forward to catch Hisana Kuchiki as she gently descended.
Despite his trust in Yusuke, the long confinement of his beloved wife had left him with lingering doubts.
However, feeling her warmth and heartbeat, his anxieties vanished.
Hisana Kuchiki, seemingly sensing the release of the seal, slowly opened her eyes, meeting Byakuya Kuchiki's excited gaze.
"Byakuya-sama, am I truly awake?" Hisana Kuchiki asked.
During her slumber, Hisana Kuchiki had dreamt many dreams.
Often, she'd awaken, believing she'd found her sister and reunited with Byakuya, only to discover it was merely a dream.
Byakuya Kuchiki's usually cold expression softened. "Hisana, you're awake, and we've found our sister."
Hisana Kuchiki's face lit up. She turned to see a girl who was her exact double, her expression a mix of excitement and apprehension.
Rukia longed to approach her sister, the bond of blood outweighing the past abandonment.
However, still somewhat apprehensive after being brought here, she remained hesitant.
Yusuke gently patted Rukia's back, using his spiritual pressure to gently nudge her towards her sister.
Hisana Kuchiki rose from Byakuya's embrace and hugged Rukia, weeping openly.
Yusuke patted Byakuya on the shoulder, smiling. "Let's give them some space."
Although he longed to speak with his long-lost wife, Byakuya Kuchiki understood that his wife's focus was solely on her long-lost sister.
Sighing, Byakuya Kuchiki and Yusuke left the bedroom for the courtyard.
"What are your plans for Rukia? I sense she has considerable potential. Joining the Gotei 13 would be a good choice," Yusuke said slowly.
Byakuya Kuchiki nodded. "The next batch of students from the Shinigami Academy will be starting their internships soon. I can arrange for Rukia to be among them."
Yusuke smiled. "You should have received the list of interns. Have you seen any promising candidates? I have a few promising individuals here."
"I'm not familiar with the Shinigami Academy students," Byakuya Kuchiki replied.
His expression hardened. "However, if their performance during their internship doesn't meet my expectations, they'll be sent back to the Academy for further training."
Yusuke shook his head with a smile. "Don't hold others to your standards. It's getting late; I should go. I won't disturb your family reunion."
Byakuya Kuchiki quickly said, "Captain Yusuke, please stay for dinner. Since you transferred to the 3rd Division, Byakuya has had few opportunities to learn from you."
Waving his hand, Yusuke smiled and declined. "You're welcome to visit the 3rd Division anytime. I have some pressing matters to attend to today."
Seeing Yusuke's determination, Byakuya didn't press further.
Yusuke returned to the 3rd Division barracks and used a spatial jump to return to Hueco Mundo.
