Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: Covering Up the Truth, Sect Master Hu Jie

All the bodies had been burned to ashes. Aside from traces of battle, not a single corpse could be found in this entire area.Even the items carried by these people were not spared—Yun Ze burned everything related to them, including the detection devices.

"Draw the energy from the small space out here," Yun Ze said to Gu Yuena.

"Why?" Gu Yuena asked doubtfully.

"Although we've already destroyed the bodies, there is still residual energy lingering in the air. It could be detected," Yun Ze explained.

"So that's the reason." Gu Yuena immediately understood Yun Ze's intention. He wanted to use the energy from Dragon Valley to mask the remaining energy signature and create the illusion that these men had died due to Dragon Valley.

After understanding, she quickly opened a massive spatial channel, guiding the energy from Dragon Valley outward.

They could not move the Dragon Valley miniature space itself, but releasing its energy was not a problem for Gu Yuena.

A silver vortex thousands of meters wide appeared in the sky, and massive energy surged out from it.

The dense energy descended from the sky like thick fog, soon covering the entire region.

Ten minutes later, the entire area was shrouded in a faint golden mist—pure refined energy—completely covering the previous traces of battle.

"We should leave," Yun Ze said, and he and Gu Yuena flew at full speed away from Star Luo City.

Over a hundred people had been here. To say that none of them sent a distress signal to the Tang Sect headquarters was impossible.

Right now, people from the Tang Sect headquarters were likely already on their way. Flying toward Star Luo City would be walking straight into a trap.

They flew very high—over 3,000 meters. At such a height, they were much harder to detect.

Just as Yun Ze predicted, when the situation turned dire, someone had indeed activated a distress beacon.

It was a palm-sized Tang Sect emergency transmitter. Once the button was pressed, an urgent distress signal was sent.

The equipment they carried could transmit the signal directly to the Tang Sect headquarters.

After activation, not only did the nearest Tang Sect members receive the signal, but the headquarters also responded immediately, sending reinforcements.

However, they were still too late.By the time they arrived, Yun Ze and Gu Yuena were already gone.

A man in his forties floated in midair. He was extremely fat—his waist circumference nearly matched his height, making him look like a barrel.

His expression was dark, and the distorted space around him showed his unstable emotions.

His name was Hu Jie, the Sect Master of the Tang Sect headquarters in Star Luo. Everything related to the Tang Sect in the Star Luo Continent was under his authority.

"Reporting to Sect Master, we have found no corpses or distress transmitters," a Tang Sect member in a black uniform stepped forward and reported.

"Keep searching! We must find the transmitter. I want to see who is bold enough to kill members of my Tang Sect!'' Hu Jie roared.

Such a vile incident had never happened before. They never imagined that one day Tang Sect disciples would be slaughtered like this.

Though no corpse was found, the battle marks clearly proved a fierce fight had occurred.

From the current situation, the Tang Sect members here were most likely all dead.

And if not dead, they were captured.

Either way, Hu Jie could not accept it. When had the Tang Sect ever suffered such humiliation? The perpetrators must pay in blood.

Tang Sect's custom-built distress transmitters could not only call for help—they also recorded video.

They were designed to preserve evidence and clues so that the Tang Sect could exact the harshest revenge on anyone daring to provoke them.

"Also, mobilize additional manpower. Search an area of fifty kilometers radius from here inch by inch."

"Yes!" the black-robed steward replied respectfully.

"Sect Master, do you think Li Qing and Feng Yuan's incident may be related to the Dragon Valley micro-world?" an elder asked as he flew over.

Hu Jie looked up at the sky, then at the hazy golden mist, and his expression became thoughtful.

"If it's related to Dragon Valley, could it be that a Dragon Soul escaped from inside?" Hu Jie wondered.

He had entered Dragon Valley in his youth and knew the situation there: only the Dragon Souls had combat ability.

But after speaking, he quickly shook his head:

"No, that doesn't seem likely."

"Those Dragon Souls are brainless, just raw strength. If they killed people, there should still be bodies."

"Yet we haven't found even a single corpse. It's like they vanished into thin air."

"And to say the Dragon Souls consumed them completely without leaving a trace—I don't believe that."

The elder fell silent. He had a point—Dragon Souls were no different from beasts; they couldn't do something so clean.

"Then this matter is strange. You and I both know the energy here is definitely from Dragon Valley."

"To say it has nothing to do with Dragon Valley is impossible," the elder said gravely.

Hu Jie frowned tightly. The more he thought about it, the more bizarre everything felt.

He carefully sensed the energy fluctuations in this space, but the Dragon Valley energy was too dense. No matter how he sensed, all he felt was that energy.

There were two possibilities:

First, only Dragon Valley energy existed here, with no traces of any other energy.

Second, other types of energy existed—but had been covered up by Dragon Valley's energy.

If the first, then the incident was related only to Dragon Valley. If the second, then someone was deliberately using Dragon Valley's energy to hide the truth.

"But how could Dragon Valley's energy be controlled by someone?" Hu Jie muttered, puzzled.

The Tang Sect had discovered Dragon Valley over a thousand years ago and had tried to control it, all ending in failure.

In their understanding, Dragon Valley space was impossible to completely control—not even for the strongest spatial spirit masters.

"Could an unknown terrifying existence within Dragon Valley have caused all this?"

While everyone from the Tang Sect was left puzzled—

The true culprits were eating and drinking comfortably in a private room of a small-town hotel.

The table was piled with food, and Gu Yuena was devouring it with delight.

"Even though there's Dragon Soul energy inside to replenish me and I don't feel hunger, going so long without eating real food feels terrible," Gu Yuena complained.

She hadn't eaten properly in more than three months, and now that she could, happiness overflowed from her heart.

"Didn't you say you no longer need to eat large amounts to replenish blood-qi?" Yun Ze asked with a smile.

Gu Yuena's hand holding a drumstick froze. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she glared at Yun Ze.

"Not eating for blood-qi—does that mean I'm not allowed to eat more just because I want to? It's still food—I can eat as much or little as I want."

With that, she picked up the golden-brown, crispy roasted chicken leg coated with seasoning, and bit into it with a satisfied smile.
