Just before the serpent crashed onto Wraith No. 4, the cocoon quickly enveloped his body, protecting him from certain death.
However, almost immediately, the cocoon shattered, unable to withstand the might of the serpent. And why would it? It was just a hastily made barrier.
Even though it was made by a Nascent Soul realm cultivator, the power behind the serpent far surpassed what it could withstand. Still, it was enough to save Wraith no 4's life.
Wraith no 4 was sent flying across the street, like a kite cut off from its string. His body crashed violently into the ground, causing him to cough up blood.
Although he was able to avoid the brunt of the attack, he was still in pretty bad shape. In fact, he was in such awful shape that he was struggling to get back to his feet.
Ideally, this would have been the perfect chance for Bella to get rid of him. One more strike from the serpent and he wouldn't be able to survive.
