Gloria looked at her foster mother with glistening eyes. "Mother, I believe you and trust that Simon won't be that heartless to do that to me. Umph! I will not listen to the evil people trying to mess with our family!"
Anne's face twitched when Gloria said that, but she didn't dare show any dissatisfaction.
"Um, that's good. Anyway, we will do our best to rectify the rumors. They are definitely not good for everyone!"
Gloria nodded her head heavily as she responded, "That's true. You know I have always had the clan at heart!"
Anne nodded, agreeing to that. Gloria might not have many qualities, but loyalty is one thing she has.
"I know my child. Anyway, don't forget about the clan and don't be fooled by that blackhearted man. Only we care for you!"
"I know. I won't forget," Gloria nodded obediently, and Anne was pleased to see that.
After a moment of silence, Anne suddenly said, "Gloria, will you be sleeping here or at the clan house?" her tone probing.
