"Uncle, and Aunt, I am truly sorry that this happened. I was shocked as well. I didn't think …. sniff ….. how are we …." Simon became emotional as his eyes reddened talking about the matter.

Anne, seeing her son-in-law in such a state, felt her maternal heart aching for him. She reached out her hands, grabbed his hands, and started patting them, saying softly, "It's not your fault," comforting him.

Simoom looked tearfully at Anne, his eyes pooling with tears, and shook his head. "It's all my fault. If only I had been at home and hadn't gone on that trip, perhaps this ....."

The confrontation session ended up becoming the in-laws comforting Simon, and their suspicion dissipating. There was no way he would be involved, right?

That should be the case.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

As they were in the comforting session, Simon's phone suddenly rang and he looked apologetically at his in-laws, who gestured to him to go ahead.
