It was already past 6pm when Logan and Hannah arrived home. They got down from the car and went straight inside the mansion.
The moment Hannah stepped into the lounge, she froze on the spot. Her hands trembled slightly around the shopping bag she had brought from the spa. Her
Hannah froze on the spot the moment she reached the lounge. Her eyes widened at the sight before her.
Seated comfortably on the sofa were two familiar figures –– faces she hadn't expected to see, not here, not now. The very faces she had begged Logan to let her see, but her pleas had fallen on deaf ears.
Her throat went dry. It was as if her legs refused to move but something within her pushed her forward as though encouraging her to move. Slowly, she began to walk as though each step she took will make them vanish.
Her lips parted, voice breaking slightly.
"Aunt… Uncle…" she stuttered in disbelief.
Aunt Mary and Mr Griffin was also in a daze on seeing their niece.
The moment they were about to board the plane, some strange looking men dressed in black suits suddenly appeared in front of them, blocking them from boarding the plane.
"Who are you?" Aunt Mary asked wearily.
"We have an order to follow by Mr Emerson, he said we should bring you back cause the Introduction party is in two days so you have to be present for her party. " One of the intimidating men spoke, his voice was so scary that had the couple shiver slightly.
"This way please "! They said in unison as they made way for them to pass.
Out of fear, the couple obeyed without saying anything knowing fully the kind of man Logan Emerson is.
Aunt Mary stood up and was about to embrace her niece but was stopped with Logan sharp next words.
"You didn't come here to hug or interact with her. So get ready, after dinner the Chaffeuer will take you back to your house".
Hannah froze as she turned to look at Logan with disbelief. How could he deny her aunt from greeting her? She mused with a deep frown.
"Logan, they are family, why can't we welcome each other?" She asked with a trembling voice.
"Where were they when I took you to visit them?" Logan asked coldly, his voice sending chills down the couple's spines.
Hannah shook her head and decided to do one thing she never thought she'd ever imagine herself doing in her lifetime.
She dropped the shopping bag on the floor and fell on both her knees her head leaning on his feet.
Logan was stunned for a brief moment but went back to been expressionless.
"Please let me spend time with my aunt and uncle. I'm begging, I promise to do anything. Even if it's against my will. " She begged with heavy tears.
Mr Griffin felt hurt in his heart seeing his niece begging her husband.
Logan suddenly squatted down and grabbed her jaw softly making her to look at him intently.
"They don't worth you. Cause if they do, they wouldn't have agreed to push you into a contract marriage that you will never come out of it. " He said with a flat tone. He didn't give a damn or care about the couple standing there.
Aunt Mary didn't dare say a word. She could feel his intimidating aura cloaking them.
Hannah didn't say anything as her her face was smudged with her make up making her look unsightly.
"You only have fifteen minutes, after fifteen minutes, Charles will pick them up. " He said casually as he let go of her jaw before standing up. With that, he walked towards the elevator and pressed the button for the seventh floor.
After he was gone, Aunt Mary quickly rushed over towards Hannah and helped her up.
"Oh dear, I didn't know you are suffering this much emotionally. " She said with a worried tone.
Hannah didn't say anything and just embraced her aunt as tears silently streamed down her cheeks.
No words were said except the calm silence in the hall with the sniffles of her tears.
Mary hugged her back tenderly. She stroke her hair softly, playing with the softness.
"There is no need to do things that will hurt you. Just do your part so you can pay our bills." Aunt Mary said softly pulling away from the hug.
Hannah used the back of her hands to clean her tears and stared at her Aunt.
"Why did you accept the contract marriage? And ––"
Forget it dear, as far as you are married into a wealthy family. No one in this world will hurt you cause of the famous family and multi billionaire CEO that is your husband. Her Aunt quickly interrupted her words. It was as if she knew where the question was heading to.
We only have fifteen minutes and we already used ten minutes of our time. Lets use the remaining five minutes to catch up. Aunt Mary said softly and pulled Hannah to sit on the couch.
"Are you coming for my introduction party in two days?" Hannah asked weakly. She knew it will very impossible say some certain things to her aunt and uncle at this critical moment.
"Sure dear, why not?" Her Aunt sounded enthusiastic.
Hannah just nodded and suddenly held her aunt's hand.
Mr Griffin stared at her observing her solemn expression.
"What is it there? Do you want to tell us something?" Mr Griffin asked worriedly while Mary kept on stroking Hannah's hand softly as if urging her to speak up.
Hannah took in a deep breath before exhaling heavily.
"I'm in stage 2 Glioblastoma." She said weakly staring at the shocked expression ls on both their faces.
The couple were so shocked to their bones upon hearing what Hannah said. They were so shocked that they were finding it hard to believe. It was as if they heard something strange.
"Glioblastoma?" They uttered shocked and disbelief.
