Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Let's spend time together

Mr Emerson stared at his wife, the woman who he had married for many years.

"I will be visiting President Fledd after the party." He said calmly making his wife frown deeply.

"Huh, I thought you are not longer interested. " She said calmly.

Mr Emerson sigh deeply before exhaling harshly.

"President Fledd invited me for a state banquet. Since I'm the ambassador of the president. " He replied rendering her shocked and speechless.

"What? ! " Why would he make you the ambassador? Doesn't he knows what that means? She asked irritably.

I thought our family is longer under the political system but I still can't believe we are dragged under it. What the hell does the president wants from us? She was so pissed to the core.

Mr Emerson sigh and stood up before hugging his wife. Mrs Emerson hugged him back before pulling away.

"I'm having a bad feeling about this banquet." She said weakly and worriedly.

Mr Emerson just ruffled her hair gently.

"Don't worry, I won't be killed. " He said with reassuring smile. While Mrs Emerson just nodded before stepping out of the study office.

Inside Brielle's room,

Brielle was applying her lip gloss on her lips when her phone buzzed.

She quickly picked it and answered l,

"Scarlett, I'm coming. Just give me ten minutes, I will be the restaurant. " She said hastily before putting on her heels. While Scarlett sigh deeply. She needed to make her plan before the party so she could be with Logan again. She'd rather die than let another wretched woman be Logan's wife. She thought before saying,"okay be quick I will be waiting. " With that she ended the call.

After putting on her heels and spraying her perfume, she left the room and went downstairs to have breakfast with her family.

"Brielle dear, are you heading out?" Mrs Emerson asked applying butter on her bread before eating it.

Yes mum, I and Scarlet are heading out. So I won't be home this night until tomorrow evening. So I can come and prepare for the introduction party the day after tomorrow. She explained calmly.

Oh. Just be safe. Mrs Emerson said and she nodded. Ever since her family were under the wings of the president, her popularity had increased in the upper class society. And she needed to keep it that way. With that thought, she drank her cold juice before placing it back on the table and waltzed out of the mansion.

In Logan's mansion,

Hannah had just finished dressing up. She was wearing a navy blue dress that reached her ankle. After she was done dressing, she wore her black high heels before combing her hair backwards. Once she was done, she stepped out of the room before using the elevator to go downstairs.

Reaching downstairs, she was surprised to see Miss Beckette waiting in the lounge.

"Good morning ma'am". Miss Beckette greeted head bow and politely.

Morning! Hannah greeted scanning the lounge as though she was looking for someone.

As if sensing what she was looking for, Miss Beckette quickly spoke,

"Master has gone out with second master. And he said once you have picked your dress, you should inform him so he could come and pick you for the event. " She explained quickly.

Hannah raised her eyebrows as if doubting her but just nodded. She sat down calmly on the couch watching as Miss Beckette and her sales girls shuffle through the bags.

After a short while, they finally brought out a sparkling diamond shadowed cream colored dress. Hannah mouth hung open in awe as she had never seen this type of dress before nor heard about it.

"Even the president's wife haven't gotten such an intricate dress like this. " Miss Beckette explained with a knowing smile.

Hannah's eyes kept staring at the beautiful, intricate dress adorned with diamonds from the skirt all the way up to the bodice. The shimmer caught every flicker of light, making it appear almost alive. Her fingers trembled slightly as she reached out, afraid that if she touched it, the delicate artistry would somehow vanish like a dream.

"This… this is for me?" she whispered, her voice caught between disbelief and wonder.

Miss Beckette's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Yes, ma'am. He said no jewel, no crown, no treasure in this world could be worthy enough for you—except this."

Hannah's chest tightened, her heart pounding. She had lived long enough to know dresses came in many shapes, fabrics, and prices—but this… this was something beyond luxury. It wasn't just a garment; it was a statement, a symbol of how far her husband was willing to go.

A tear slipped from the corner of her eye, not of sadness, but from the overwhelming mix of awe and gratitude. She traced her gaze along the cascade of diamonds, each one catching the glow of the chandeliers above, and whispered to herself, "How can a single dress hold so much power?"

Miss Beckette kept on staring at Hannah.

"This is beautiful. " Hannah whispered softly cleaning her tears.

"Not as beautiful as you, the master, the most famous multi billionaire CEO all over Sutherland city is so lucky to have such a beautiful wife like you. " She added still smiling.

Hannah didn't say anything else and kept staring at the beauty for a long while before nodding her head.

"I love this. I will wear this on that day. Keep it, and bring it tomorrow. " She said calmly.

"Sure anything for the future wife. " Miss Beckette smiled at her.

With that, they carefully kept the dress back inside the glass bag and left. The moment they left,

Hannah cleaned her remnants of tears before taking out her phone to call him.

After a few rings,

His deep thick voice resonated through the phone.

"Do you love the dress Beckette brought for you?"

There was a moment of silence between them before Hannah replied,

"Yes, thank you and it's beautiful. "

"The Chaffeuer will come get you once it's 3pm, so get ready." He said with a monotone voice.
