Logan stared at Charles for a while before parting his lips to say bluntly,
"Hannah isn't of importance". It was better for him to make sure Hannah obey the fifth rule of the marriage contract or else she will think he loves her just because he kissed her twice.
Yes,the first one might have been intentional, but the second one was to also calm her down in public.
Charles was stunned to hear Logan's words. So his assumption was wrong, his friend didn't love Hannah.
"Hmph...."
Any thing else? I have an important meeting by 4 pm. Logan said as he stood up the moment he saw the time was fifteen minutes to 4.
Charles also stood up and smirked.
"Don't fall for Scarlett too much." Charles said coolly while Logan nodded.
Charles was about to leave when Logan spoke again,
"I already informed Chen to find out why Gregor came to Sutherland. He will get back to me in 24 hours."
"I also have my men investigating it too. Something is up with that man". He said.
"Yeah. And we will find out." Logan said and Charles nodded before the two of them left the presidential office.
In Logan's mansion,
Hannah was still resting on the bed during the mid dayLots of thoughts were flooding her head about the bills of her family, why her aunt had agreed on a contract marriage for her even when they got a free marriage alliance from the grandpa Emerson through her uncle friend. She alo thought about her sickness and how she would never see her family again most especially Elizabeth.
The painful part of it all was she doesn't even know if Elizabeth have finally regained consciousness. And she was extremely scared of asking Logan in fear of being insulted.
She had noticed that when ever she cries, her head feels as though it wants to burst from extreme pain. And she doesn't want to die prematurely.
Why did fate have to play such a cruel joke with her?
Her life was already meaningless and over when she was forced to be a contract wife to a heartless and cold blooded man who makes sure she gets hurt both mentally and physically. And if she tries to escape again, she didn't know what type of punishment would awaits her again. He had also threatened to punish her if she interfere in his personal life.
What else can she do to survive this hell like prison that is in form of a luxurious mansion?
Hannah sat up on the bed, her face looked pale. The sun was out casting a golden glow in the sky bringing out the beauty of nature.
She stood up and went to the bathroom to have her bath. She spent an hour in the bathroom which was unlike her, and after stepping out, she was wrapped in a white towel.
She went to the other brown door and pushed it open. This was another room.she hadn't gotten the chance to admire, though, it was filled to the brim with clothes and so many accessories. She decided to dress casually since she will be indoor. She scanned through the clothes section before her gaze finally caught sight of a tank top with spaghetti sleeve.
She picked it and took a cream colored palazzo and wore it. After dressing up, she sprayed some perfumes before brushing her black long raven hair. Once she was done, she stepped out of the room, used the elevator and went downstairs. Reaching downstairs, she froze at the entrance of the elevator when her eyes caught sight of a woman.
A familiar woman. She gulped hard and steady her nervousness before slowly walking to the lounge where the familiar woman was sitting elegantly like a Queen on the armchair.
Hannah slowly sat down and decided to act calm in front of this woman. She remembered this woman twice; she was Scarlett Boswell, the woman who threatened to break her marriage with Logan. At first,she thought she would ask this woman for help, but for some strange reasons, she decided not to.
And the second time she saw this woman was at her introduction party where she almost embarrassed her but ended up getting embarrassed herself. She stared at the woman blankly.
Scarlett was also gazing at the woman coldly. She didn't hide her contempt and hatred towards Hannah. She had decided to see this foolish woman and let her know her place in Logan's life. At first, she didn't want to tell Hannah. But something in her urged her to spite Hannah. She must find out if this woman actually have feelings for her man.
There was a long pause of silence before Scarlett spoke nonchalantly.
"Hi Hannah! I'm here to see you".
Her voice sounded warm, and at the same thing a bit mocking. Hannah could hear the sarcasm in her tone but she didn't take it to heart.
Flora and some maids brought in a tray of two glass cups with a bottle of cold juice. She poured some juice into the two glasses. She handed one to the lady of the house which is Hannah.
Scarlett rolled her eyes inwardly. Soon, she will become the lady of the house. She thought evilly.
Hannah took the glass cup while Flora handed the the second one to Scarlett.
The two ladies took slow sips from their juice before placing them on the glass center table.
"I feel defeated". Scarlett suddenly said calmly.
Hannah furrowed her brows in confusion and asked,
"I don't understand you your words".
Okay, let's cut to the chase woman. You very well know that ik Logan's fiancee. Scarlett said. But Hannah remained silent. She didn't dare refute that word.
"Last night, Logan and I had sex". Scarlett a ad bluntly and Hannah suddenly stiffened.
Her heart somersaulted in her chest as she tried to keep a passive face. But unfortunately, Scarlett could see through the turmoil she was trying so hard to disguise.
