Andrea sighed when she got the same answer for the tenth time.
Madam Rosa had given her till 6pm to get the money, but now the time was 9pm, and not only had she not received any call from the woman, but even Gael had become unreachable. Could it be he actually handled it, but how? What if something bad has happened to him?
Andrea kept pacing in the living room and was about to call him again when she heard a loud cry coming from Kai's room.
She sighed and rushed to his room. She picked him up from his crib and said, "What's wrong?" Weren't you sleeping a while ago?"
Andrea placed him on her shoulder and gently patted his back, but despite her effort to appease him, he continued crying.
Andrea looked out the window at the sound of rainfall and brought Kai closer to the window.
