Chapter 122 - Chapter 122 – The Peaceful Birth of the Uchiha Heir

"Master Hokage, Master Jiraiya has arrived!" Menma called out, motioning for them to enter first.

The people inside immediately stood up when they heard Menma's announcement, turning their eyes toward the entrance.

Seeing the familiar figures, they all greeted in unison:

"Hokage-sama, Jiraiya-sama!"

"Hokage-sama, Jiraiya-sama!"

Tsunade waved her hand dismissively. "Today is the Uchiha patriarch's big day. I'm not Hokage-sama right now—just a guest here to celebrate. So everyone, relax and have some fun."

"Understood, Hokage-sama," the crowd replied with a smile, then returned to eating, drinking, and chatting as the festive atmosphere filled the hall.

Weddings in Konoha were simple affairs—family and friends gathered, shared good food, and celebrated together.

Meanwhile, Menma returned to the entrance to continue welcoming guests. When he spotted the next arrivals, the corner of his mouth lifted into a knowing grin.

"Kakashi-sensei, Guy-sensei, welcome!" he greeted energetically.

Guy was, as always, wearing his signature green jumpsuit, while Kakashi opted for a fitted black suit—an unusual sight.

Kakashi tilted his head. "What are you doing here?"

"Of course I'm helping! I'm Itachi's good friend, so it's only natural I handle the guest reception," Menma replied smoothly, then leaned closer. "By the way, sensei, how much are you giving for the wedding gift? I already gave one million myself—you can't let your student outshine you, right?"

Kakashi's visible eye widened. "One million?" He paused, then deadpanned, "I'll just choose to lose face, thanks."

Pulling out a small red envelope, Kakashi slipped it discreetly into the gift box. "Just a token of goodwill," he muttered before grabbing Guy and hurrying inside.

Menma stared after them, expression darkening. That wasn't how this was supposed to go...

He had even prepared extra cash to "lend" Kakashi for the occasion—but alas, plans never survived reality. With a sigh, he watched his sensei's retreating back. "You've changed, Kakashi-sensei… you've become boring."

Kakashi felt the piercing gaze behind him and instinctively quickened his pace, dragging Guy along.

As the morning passed, the crowd dwindled. Menma left a shadow clone at the gate to handle any latecomers and headed inside himself.

There, standing at the front, was Uchiha Izumi—her long black hair tied neatly, her crimson lips highlighted against pale skin, her beauty refined and gentle. She stood beside Itachi, who looked unusually relaxed and genuinely happy. Together, they truly looked like a perfect pair.

Menma couldn't help but think, Kishimoto, you really did them dirty in the original timeline.

But here, things had changed.

Just as Menma was lost in thought, Jiraiya suddenly grabbed him. "Menma! Why are you just standing there? Come have a drink!"

"Drink? But Master, I'm only twelve!" Menma protested.

"Nonsense," Jiraiya said with a grin. "You're practically an adult in my book."

Dragged to a table, Menma found himself surrounded by grinning adults who kept refilling his cup. Before long, everything went hazy.

The next morning, he woke up with a pounding headache.

"Ugh… those beasts," he groaned, clutching his head. "Who gets a twelve-year-old drunk? You all have no conscience…"

He swore revenge—but first, he'd need to increase his alcohol tolerance.

What Menma didn't know was that he hadn't even made it home. He was currently sleeping in the Hokage's office. Tsunade sat nearby, giggling as she flipped through photos—every single one showing a very drunk, red-faced Menma.

She wasn't the only one who had them. Jiraiya and Kakashi each had a copy too.

If Menma ever found out, he'd definitely cry.

Months later, everyone gathered outside Konoha Hospital's operating room.

Anxious faces filled the corridor.

"It's okay, Itachi," Uchiha Mikoto comforted.

"That's right," added Fugaku, trying to sound composed. "You're the Uchiha patriarch now—Izumi will be fine."

Mikoto chuckled. "That's funny coming from you. You're more nervous than he is."

Fugaku coughed awkwardly, trying to deflect attention. "Sasuke, when are you planning to get married?"

Sasuke blinked. "Married? I'm still a kid!"

Mikoto joined in teasingly. "Speaking of which, Itachi's already a father soon. How about you, Sasuke? Do you like anyone?"

Before Sasuke could reply, Naruto piped up helpfully, "Sister Mikoto, I know! Both Sakura and Ino like Sasuke!"

Sasuke glared daggers at him, but Naruto just grinned, happily chatting away with Mikoto.

Hearing that her youngest son was so popular, Mikoto's mood brightened instantly. "Sasuke, Mom believes in you! You've got this!" she said, making a little cheering gesture.

Sasuke could only stare blankly. Got this? Got what?

Then Mikoto turned to Naruto. "Naruto, if you have time, you should teach Sasuke how to talk to girls properly. He could use some help getting out of his shell."

Naruto thumped his chest proudly. "No problem, Sister Mikoto! Leave it to me!"

Sasuke clenched his fists, glaring at Naruto. You dare…

Naruto just smirked inwardly, already imagining Sasuke being mobbed by girls later on. That'll teach you to punch me, teme.

At that moment, the sound of a newborn's cry echoed through the corridor.

Everyone turned toward the operating room just as Shizune stepped out, smiling and cradling a small bundle.

"Don't worry—mother and daughter are both safe," she said warmly.

Everyone exhaled in relief and crowded around.

Itachi's hands trembled as he took his daughter.

Her tiny eyes were closed in peaceful sleep, delicate brows like willow leaves, her little mouth opening and closing softly as if she were already trying to speak.

Menma stared at her, completely entranced.

So this… is Itachi's daughter. My goddaughter.

He couldn't look away.
