Night had fallen, and they were only a day's away from reaching the eastern gates. Wooyun found himself drifting off to sleep before jolting awake.
His body was heavier than usual, the fight earlier having drained more of his strength than he wanted to admit. Junghwa's low voice broke through the quiet. "Rest. We still have a journey ahead."
Wooyun nodded faintly, his eyes slipping shut again. Before he could stop himself, his head tilted to the side and landed on Soomin's shoulder.
Soomin stiffened at first but said nothing, her gaze flickering toward Junghwa.
The Demon Lord's mouth twitched, the faintest crack in his composure. "Seo-yoon," he said smoothly, though there was an edge hidden in his tone.
"Hmm?" Wooyun responded languidly.
"It doesn't look right for you to lean on a younger girl for support. And your aide no less. Come sit beside me."
