Chapter 188
"Jake!" Britney grumbled, giving me a glare, though a playful smile lingered on her face.
"Hey, I said Britney, comma, Bitch. I didn't call you bitch," I corrected, feeling wronged
Cara and Pippa still looked frozen, staring between me and Britney as if their brains were buffering.
"You... you mean the Britney?" Cara finally muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yup," Britney confirmed with a wink, adjusting her hair casually and taking off the hoodie
"Hey girls, calm down, there's still my secret," I said, grinning. "That is way cooler!"
"Braggart!" Britney teased.
"Jake is Marshmello," Paige revealed. Britney nodded
"Paige!" I snapped at her. "You killjoy, that was my line!"
She stuck her tongue out and ran away as I went after her.
"What do you mean by Jake is Marshmello?" Pippa blinked, not understanding.
Cara was just silent with widened eyes.
At that moment, Carly, Sam, and Freddie appeared at the door.
Sam took one look at Cara and Pippa, both still frozen in shock, and grinned.
"Huh, looks like you girls found out the truth," Sam remarked, casually waving her hand in front of Pippa's face to see if she'd blink.
Without missing a beat, Sam grabbed a pen from the nearby table and approached Pippa with a mischievous grin.
"Perfect time for some mustache art!" she snickered, aiming the pen toward Pippa's face.
I quickly stopped her, snatching the pen from her hand. "Hey, Sam!" I scolded, giving her a firm look.
"No mustache! Do some stars and moons," I added, smirking as I turned to draw little stars and crescent moons on Pippa's cheek myself.
Before I could start drawing, Pippa suddenly slapped my hand, sending the pen flying across the room. Her eyes were twitching in disbelief.
"Really, Jake?" she asked, staring at me
"I'm confused, are you talking about me drawing on your cheek or me being Marshmello?" I asked, tilting my head.
She huffed. I took her hand gently, while Freddie was already doing the same with Cara.
It took a while for the girls to calm down and process everything. Meanwhile, Carly, Sam, Paige and Britney were chatting about iCarly.
Britney mentioned how much she enjoyed watching the show because she found it hilarious, and casually suggested she could make an appearance on it someday. The idea instantly sparked even more excitement from Carly and Sam, their faces lighting up at the possibility.
Pippa, finally snapping out of her daze, let out a deep breath and rubbed her temples.
"This is too much for one afternoon," she muttered, her voice still shaky but steadying.
Cara suddenly let out a girly scream, startling everyone. She grabbed Freddie's hands tightly, her eyes wide with excitement
"You said we can see Britney and Marshmello singing today?" she squealed, bouncing slightly in place as she clutched Freddie's hands tighter.
"Though she said she was not a bubble girl," I murmured, earning an immediate elbow from Pippa.
That instantly made Britney remember something. She walked over to me
"Where is my music?" she asked, then made a finger-gun gesture and playfully pressed it against my arm. "Pass my music," she joked, acting like a bandit.
"Yeah, I wrote it," I replied with a smile
Britney and I walked to a quieter corner of the room, where I handed her a folded piece of paper with the lyrics. She unfolded it eagerly, her eyes scanning the words.
We hummed the melody together a few times, testing the rhythm and flow. I adjusted a few parts, thinking aloud and tweaking the lines here and there, while Britney added her own suggestions
After a bit more practice, ironing out the last details, we exchanged a nod.
Turning back to the group, I announced, "We're ready." Britney flashed a bright, confident smile beside me.
Without wasting a moment, I moved to my DJ table, setting up the beat, while Britney and I both adjusted our headset microphones.
