Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Jinko’s Judgment

In the Laybirth Kingdom

After Jinko had eliminated all who opposed him, Team One and the gathered crowd thought the nightmare was finally over.

But Ryju knew better. It's not over yet.

What else could be left? Rei wondered, eyes scanning the restless crowd.

Ah man, I'm trying to rest… Kenshiro grumbled silently, exhaustion tugging at him.

Kaji's brow furrowed. I wonder what he's going to do next…

Shun shifted uneasily beside him."I've got a bad feeling about this man."

Goro nodded in agreement."Yeah, for real."

Jinko sat atop his high throne, a sinister smile curling his lips.

"Now," he called out, voice cold and commanding, "the names I say—come forth. And if you decide not to come out..."

He smiled deviously, eyes gleaming with cruel intent.

"I know what you look like. So I'll just call you out."

"Lara Ushana!"

A girl's voice broke from the crowd.

"What!?"

A white-haired girl stepped forward, wearing a battered brown jacket.

"Judo Ke!"

Judo emerged beside her, donning the same worn jacket, his expression tense.

"And Sara… and Karo—come out!"

A pink-haired girl and a muscular boy both stepped forward, matching their comrades with the same ragged jackets.

Jinko's smile deepened.

"You may wonder why I called you all here."

In an instant, his form dissolved into shimmering light particles, reassembling directly in front of them.

The four generals stepped down from the wooden platform, touching the ground with quiet authority.

The golden-armored guards shifted aside respectfully as the generals flanked Jinko, two on each side.

"The reason I called you four," Jinko said coldly, "is because you know you are spies from the Jinkawa Village."

The Jinkawa people are here, Kaji realized with a shiver.

Jinko narrowed his eyes

"And you know what that means... automatic execution."

Lara's eyes widened sharply.

"Bubble gum pop!" she declared with a mischievous grin.

She blew a huge pink bubblegum bubble that shot straight toward Jinko's face—boom!—a small explosion erupted on impact.

I hope he felt that, Lara thought with a smirk.

But Jinko stood unfazed, smoke swirling around his face.

He raised his arm slowly and placed his index finger gently on Lara's forehead.

"You bad girl," he said softly.

Lara's eyes went wide as if she had seen a ghost.

A faint light began to glow on Jinko's finger pressed against her skin, leaving a brown burnt mark.

What the hell? Lara thought, leaping backward.

"Are you okay?" Judo called out, concern in his voice.

"I don't know," Lara admitted, still shaken.

Sara frowned."That attack should've blown half his face off."

Lara nodded grimly."I know."

Karo cracked his knuckles."Looks like we have to fight now."

"How did he figure us out?" Judo asked in disbelief.

"I don't know," Lara replied. "But Jinko is a threat. He must be stopped—killed."

"All right!" the group chorused in agreement.

Shun looked toward Team One."Do we help?"

Kaji shook his head."No. Let's watch."

Rei frowned."They're going to die."

Kaji shrugged."Well, they have to. I can't send you in without intel on their abilities. That's kind of the Jinkawa Village's fault."

Rei bit back a reply.

Ryju's eyes locked on Jinko, but his mind raced.I'm going to beat you, Jinko. I'm going to beat you.

Jinko's voice broke through the tension."Generals, handle this."

Saye stepped forward confidently.

"Well, how about you, white hair?" she challenged.

Hiro's blue lightning crackled around him as his hair rose."I've been itching to kill someone."

Saye's brother smiled grimly."If Saye wants to kill, then I do too."

Que sighed."I'm sorry. I never wanted to kill you. But orders are orders."

Now, the four generals stood face-to-face against the four Jinkawa spies.

What will be the outcome of this fight?
