Chapter 107 - CHAPTER 107

What do you want!" Linnana glared at the few pirates following close behind, taking a cautious step back. Her gaze flicked from them to Passat, who was engaged in a fierce skirmish with over a dozen intruders in the house, then to the wounded man beside her.

"What for? That man's dead meat today you're his wife, right? Come back with us. Let my boys enjoy some refreshment." The pirate's grin was soaked in vulgarity, his leering eyes revealing no intention of letting Linnana go unscathed.

"Go back with you? Try it." Linnana's eyes suddenly turned sharp, exuding a silent threat. It was as if she held some hidden ace that could overturn the situation at any moment.

"You've got guts to resist death," the pirate sneered. He mistook her glare for desperation, completely unaware that she wasn't bluffing.

"Wood Ground Rift!" Linnana suddenly shouted. In an instant, the earth beneath the backyard split apart with a guttural crack, and dozens of thick vines erupted from the ground, lashing out like serpents in a fury.

"You, you're a Devil Fruit user?!" the pirate stammered, caught off guard. None of them had expected to run into someone with Devil Fruit powers here, of all places.

"Hmph. Not even in your worst nightmares." Linnana's tone was cold as she directed the vines like living weapons. She had eaten the Vine-Vine Fruit, a Paramecia-type that allowed her to generate and control vines anywhere there was fertile ground making the backyard her personal battlefield.

"Run!" one of the pirates screamed. They watched in horror as the vines thrashed like Kraken tentacles, tearing through the air. Trying to flee back into the house, they realized too late they were already surrounded.

"Think you can run? Nightly Bind." Linnana snapped her fingers. The vines surged forward, entangling the pirates mid-sprint, binding them in midair like marionettes in a cruel puppet show.

"Passat!" she called out, eyes darting toward the house. Remembering her husband still locked in battle, she drew out a whip-like vine from the earth and coiled it tightly around her wrist like a weaponized sash.

"Boss! The woman outside is a monster some of the boys got taken down!" One scrappy pirate who escaped Linnana's grasp stumbled inside, panting, as he relayed the scene to the pirate leader.

"What did you say?! A Devil Fruit user?!" the pirate leader growled. His eyes snapped to the writhing vines outside, instantly grasping the gravity of the situation. Passat's wife wasn't just some background civilian she was a walking natural disaster.

"Passat!" Linnana shouted again, cracking her vine-whip to keep any stragglers at bay, fending off pirates from coming anywhere near.

"Linnana, are you hurt?" Passat rushed to her side, bloodied but still standing, concern etched into his expression.

"I'm fine but they're not all down yet." Linnana's eyes scanned the area, wary. She knew better than to assume these thugs wouldn't try something reckless.

"Hmph. One's a swordsman and the other's a Devil Fruit user. Looks like we picked the wrong house to raid," the pirate leader muttered, his earlier bravado now chilled by the couple's obvious strength.

"Then scram while you still can." Passat's tone was cold, pressing the advantage while the pirate leader hesitated.

"You hand that man over" he pointed to the bloodied warrior who'd fought alongside Passat"and we'll leave. That guy's worth more than you know."

Passat's eyes narrowed. The man had risked himself mid-battle to protect the household. He hadn't tried to escape or steal during the confusion. "What if we don't?" Passat asked, voice calm but filled with steel.

"You dare defy us? Do you know what happens to people who cross us?" the pirate leader snapped. His fury bubbled to the surface, yet he seemed unwilling to charge forward recklessly.

"I don't care what happens. I just know this anyone I protect, no one takes from me." Passat's glare could cut steel. His stance made it clear: he'd fight to the death to defend that man.

"Just a little swordsman acting high and mighty. Once I tell our captain, forget you two the entire house will be flattened!" the pirate leader barked, spitting on the floor in contempt. He wasn't bluffing. In the One Piece world, captains of notorious pirate crews were known for razing entire villages over smaller slights.

"What a lot of talk.why don't you worry about getting out of the house first?" Linnana sneered. With a swift gesture, thick vines exploded from the ground and wrapped tightly around the perimeter of the house, forming a natural wall and blocking every escape route.

....

"You!" the pirate leader's face twisted in frustration. His eyes brimmed with hatred. He never expected this woman to be such a deadly force. Now he and his men were truly trapped.

"Weren't you cocky just a second ago? What happened? Cat got your tongue?" Linnana's mocking voice sliced deeper than her vines.

"Looks like we'll have to go all in! Boys, whoever kills those three gets a Devil Fruit reward!" the leader bellowed. His voice echoed like a war drum, his desperation plain. He didn't hesitate to offer a Devil Fruit a treasure that could transform one's destiny—to turn the tide.

"Then you've all chosen death." Passat's voice was dismissive, as if the pirates charging forward were little more than flies to swat. He and Linnana braced themselves, weapons ready, as the battle reignited.

"Urrraaahhh!" the pirate leader suddenly let out a guttural roar. His muscles bulged, eyes bloodshot, and his figure began to swell grotesquely.

"Hmph. Looks like you're a Devil Fruit user too," the wounded man rasped beside Linnana. Despite his injuries, his instincts were still sharp. "Zoan-type, huh? This'll be rough."

The transformation hinted at a Zoan-type Devil Fruit, likely boosting the leader's physical capabilities exponentially. But even with that power—he was still up against Passat, Linnana, and a man willing to die for their sake.
