Chapter 467 - Chapter 467: The Eye of the Moon

"Tobi?"

Uchiha Obito's voice stopped.

To him, Tobi just seemed like an idiot who only knew how to study shit, what could he possibly be hiding from him?

But Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu surely had many things hidden from him.

Tsunade beside him couldn't help but frown at that.

"Brat, who is this Tobi? Why haven't I heard you mention him before?"

Aoba took out another scroll, unrolled it as he spoke, "He's a prisoner captured together with Uchiha Obito. There was a lot going on before, so I forgot to tell you, sensei."

"Really because you were busy?"

Tsunade stared at him, feeling this guy only cared about keeping company with girls and forgot the important stuff.

Aoba just gave an embarrassed laugh and didn't answer, then he unsealed the scroll.

Immediately, a being with a pale body and a swirled face, Tobi, was released.

Everyone wore expressions of surprise, looking at this thing that was sort of human and sort of not with great curiosity.

"This was created by Uchiha Madara using cells from the First Hokage, so it knows Madara's plans inside and out," Aoba explained to them.

"You mean the real Uchiha Madara, and Grandpa's cells?", Tsunade's eyes widened.

Aoba nodded.

Tsunade was stunned. She really hadn't expected her grandfather's body to be so coveted; even dead, it could still be desirable. First Orochimaru secretly researched him, then Danzo, and now even Uchiha Madara showed up.

One after another had been coveting her grandfather's body.

"But Madara was dead ages ago, right? Killed by the First himself," Uchiha Mikoto asked in puzzlement.

Madara died long ago in the early days of Konoha's founding; he should have nothing to do with Uchiha Obito.

Could he possibly have foreseen the future?

"You should know about Izanagi, Aunt Mikoto."

Aoba said to her.

Uchiha Mikoto's eyes widened, "You mean Madara used Izanagi to fake his death and fooled the First?"

As the current clan head, of course she knew that secret technique of the Uchiha clan.

At that, Jiraiya and the others' faces grew even more serious.

"If the enemy is that Madara, this might be more serious than we thought."

Not only Jiraiya thought so; the others felt the same.

Uchiha Madara was a figure on par with the First Hokage, a man who pioneered an era.

"That's not something to worry too much about, because even if that Madara didn't actually die back then, he's dead now; that's why Uchiha Obito could impersonate his identity to move in the shinobi world."

Aoba hurriedly added when he saw everyone looking grim.

Everyone: "..."

BANG!

Tsunade smacked Aoba on the head with some force, gritting her teeth, "Say this stuff earlier."

"I didn't think you'd get so scared," Aoba rubbed his head where he'd been hit.

"You don't know how terrifying Madara was."

Tsunade shot him a look. Though she'd never met Madara, she'd heard her grandfather talk about him when she was small, even her grandfather had to fear that opponent.

Aoba was about to say more but was cut off by Tsunade, "Get to the point, what information did you get from this Tobi?"

"Oh."

Aoba began to tell them.

"According to Tobi's memories, during the battle at the Valley of the End, Madara used Izanagi to fake his death and escape. Then, by taking flesh from the First Hokage during the fight, he awakened the Rinnegan."

"The Rinnegan?"

Jiraiya instinctively exclaimed, because the thought of someone came to mind.

"It seems Jiraiya-dono has seen those eyes before."

Aoba glanced at Jiraiya, then continued, "Madara put those eyes into someone from the Uzumaki clan named Nagato."

"What?"

Jiraiya was shocked, "Nagato's eyes were actually Madara's?"

Aoba nodded, "Nagato and Uchiha Obito, just like him, were revived and used as pawns to execute that so-called Moon's Eye Plan."

"What is that Moon's Eye Plan?"

Tsunade asked.

Aoba summarized simply, "In short, it's to collect the nine tailed beasts, combine them into the legendary Ten-Tails, become a Ten-Tails jinchuriki, reach sage-level power, awaken the Eye of the Moon, then project your dojutsu onto the moon to cast Infinite Tsukuyomi, controlling everyone in the world, unifying the shinobi world, creating a peaceful world inside an illusion."

"Using genjutsu to control the entire world, that's one huge ambition."

Jiraiya said gravely, "I need to go to the Land of Rain to warn Nagato right away."

"I already warned Nagato."

Aoba added.

"You know Nagato?"

Jiraiya was stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted and looked at Aoba with some resentment, "Right, Konan is even staying at your place."

"Ahem! This isn't the issue we need to focus on now. Right now we need to focus on Uchiha Obito."

Aoba cleared his throat and refocused attention on Uchiha Obito.

Obito had already sat up, but his head hung low; if it weren't for the fact he still breathed, Aoba would have thought the man had quietly died on him.

"Uchiha Obito, I found some interesting things in Tobi's memories. Want to know?"

"Kill me if you want, I have no interest in those matters anymore."

Obito was already dead inside; he knew he couldn't live on, so he'd rather die in front of Rin with some dignity. At least he wanted to die steadfast on his chosen path.

"Is that so? Do you know Rin was actually killed because of you?"

Aoba said flatly.

"That's impossible, you're lying!"

Obito's eyes widened instantly; Aoba's words made his brain feel like it was about to burst, "Rin was killed by Kakashi!"

"Actually it wasn't Kakashi who killed me, I committed suicide," Rin suddenly spoke up at that moment.

After listening for so long, she'd already realized that much of Obito's actions stemmed from his misunderstanding about that incident; she also felt Obito had very deep misunderstandings about what happened then.

Kakashi didn't say anything, only tightened his fist.

"Wha… what?", Obito looked at Rin in disbelief.

Recalling that moment when he made his decision, a trace of helpless bitterness and a wry smile appeared on Rin's face as she repeated, "At that time I actually rushed onto Kakashi's Chidori myself."

"Why?"

Obito couldn't believe it, because for so many years he had believed Kakashi hadn't protected Rin and had accidentally killed her.
