The military officials stormed in, fully prepared to restrain Kairos. They anticipated his resistance and had come armed with guns loaded with sedative darts, designed to put him to sleep before he could retaliate.
And from the way things appeared, they would strike before he even had the chance to move.
Kairos clenched his fists. He knew he was too late to react—too slow to block what was already in motion. Even if he somehow broke free from the grip of the two men pinning him down, it wouldn't matter.
'Fuck… they've got me!'
But just as the soldiers raised their weapons and prepared to fire, the door swung open with a violent crash, echoing through the room like a thunderclap. A powerful voice pierced through the tension.
"How dare you lay a hand on him!"
Every person in the room froze.
Their heads turned slowly toward the door, all eyes now locked on the two figures who stood at the entrance. One of them was Carlos, the other, Darnell.
