Chapter 108 - CHAPTER 105 – RITO DEPRESSED

*Note: ufff, I almost forgot to translate... but here I am!

Have a good day :)

...

The kiss was an innocent kiss devoid of lust, but it carried the love they both felt for each other, a love so deep that it was unbreakable; from that moment on, Akira and Haruna were united forever.

...

After my kiss with Haruna, everything changed. Haruna was still very embarrassed and shy, but now she behaved more like a newlywed wife; she grabbed my hand and rested her head on my shoulder while smiling foolishly. She was happy, and so was I. The problem was that many students were looking at us and whispering.

"Don't you mind them watching us?" – I asked curiously.

"Ah!" – said Haruna.

She seemed to have realized that we were being watched, as she quickly pulled away from me, her face blushing.

"I-I just got carried away by the emotion!" – said Haruna embarrassed.

"Haruna... How about we have a date next weekend?" – I asked.

I couldn't do it this weekend because I had to go to Kari's house for lunch and meet her mother, who had found out about us, and on Sunday I had a date with Mikado, so my weekend was fully booked.

"Okay!" – Haruna nodded.

It was a shame it couldn't be this weekend, but if Akira didn't invite her for this weekend, it meant he had something to do.

That said, we left school, and when Haruna made sure no one was watching us, she gave me a kiss on the lips and fled like a startled rabbit.

"See you tomorrow!" – said Haruna embarrassed as she ran off.

She's so cute, although I suppose it's normal for a girl as shy as Haruna.

Besides, I'm her first and last boyfriend, so it's natural for her to be so bashful.

"Now I have to tell everything to the girls, and surely Momioka and Mio will find out tomorrow... I think tomorrow will be a day full of awkward questions" – I sighed.

But inside, I was thrilled. I had finally managed to win Haruna over! Weeks of hard work finally rewarded!

I could finally say that Haruna was my woman! What about Rito?

He never had a chance from the start, although... I wonder how he'll take it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not planning to torture Rito or show off in front of him; I'll simply let him live his life as the secondary character he always had to be, and not a protagonist.

I'm sorry Rito, but Haruna is mine now.

{Note: I hate Rito, but I am one of those people who hate torturing the protagonist no matter how hateful they are, so... I will leave Rito as a secondary character from now on, although first, we have to see his point of view. Don't you think so? }

While Akira was happily heading home and thinking about how to break the news to all his girls, there was someone whose feelings had just been brutally shattered. That someone was the original protagonist of To Love Ru, Yuuki Rito, who had been relegated to a mere secondary and even background character.

Today Rito had club activities, so he had to stay after school , but whether it was bad luck or simply fate, while walking through the school hallways to head to his club, he saw through the window how Akira and Haruna were talking and then started walking in a direction right after.

Astonished and curious, Rito decided to follow them because he knew exactly where they were going; that path could only lead to one place: the old school building.

He quickly went down the stairs and headed towards the aforementioned location, only to be met with the biggest surprise of his life.

Haruna and Akira were talking, but that wasn't surprising; what was surprising were the words that came out of Haruna's mouth:

"I had already fallen in love with you, while the feelings I felt for Yuuki-san were pity, pity for what he might feel when he found out. Although I know it was a one-sided love, my heart still feels pity for him... but I don't want to lose my true love because of it," – said Haruna.

Upon hearing these words, Rito felt as if the world was crashing down on him, and his brain suffered a kind of short circuit. But that wasn't the most surprising thing of all, because the worst was when he saw Haruna and Akira kissing.

Seeing this, his mind went blank, his legs began to tremble, he turned pale, and started to feel dizzy.

His vision blurred for a few moments, and he felt like vomiting.

The woman he had loved for years, even before middle school, that woman was kissing another man while they were embracing!

What was happening? Rito couldn't understand it.

{Note: New change. I've researched, and it's never mentioned how long Rito had been in love with Haruna, so I basically decided that Rito fell in love with Haruna since the last year of elementary school, this makes the loss more painful. Again, I don't want to make him suffer, but you'll soon understand why I'm making it so painful. Besides, not everything is bad... I won't give any more spoilers, keep reading to find out what Rito's fate will be, because I've already decided.}

Rito fell to the ground with his back against the wall, buried his head between his knees, and used his arms to cover himself.

Shocked and unable to process what he had seen, tears began to stream from his eyes.

Fortunately, he was so well hidden that he wasn't discovered when the couple left the spot, holding hands with Haruna's head resting on his shoulder.

Shattered inside, Rito got up from the floor after 30 minutes and, as if he were a zombie, returned home without looking around.

It was as if his time had been set on autopilot, and his feet walked toward his house without him ordering them to , so when he finally realized it, he had already arrived home.

"Is that you, Rito? Dinner is ready; eat first, and then take a bath..." – said Mikan.

"I'm not hungry... I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow," – said Rito with a lost look.

But his red eyes did not go unnoticed by Mikan, who immediately realized that something had gone wrong.

"Why are your eyes red? Were you crying? Did something happen to you?" – asked Mikan worriedly.

"I don't feel like talking about it right now. See you tomorrow," – said Rito as he went up the stairs.

Mikan tried to get Rito to tell her what had happened, but she couldn't get a single word out of him, only a slammed door that almost hit her face.

Surprised by her brother's strange behavior, she decided to call Saruyama and ask him if something had happened to Rito, but Saruyama's reply was simply that he didn't know and that Rito hadn't gone to the club today. However, apparently, that same afternoon, after classes ended, he was perfectly fine, so something must have happened to him in a brief period of time.

With no further clues, Mikan decided to call her boyfriend, Akira, and ask him if he had seen Rito after school.

"Hmm, no, I haven't seen him since the bell rang. Did something happen to him?" – said Akira from the other end of the phone.

"He came home and doesn't want to eat dinner, plus he's locked himself in his room and won't come out, nor does he want to tell me what's wrong. The only thing I could discover is that he was crying, and only because I saw his red eyes," – explained Mikan.

"Crying?" – asked Akira confused.

"Yes, his eyes were red and he had a lost look, like a zombie. Plus, his attitude was something he had never shown before," – Mikan nodded.

"...Strange," – said Akira.

"What should I do?" – asked Mikan, slightly nervous.

"Leave him be. Maybe something just upset him. Let him rest until tomorrow, and maybe he'll recover on his own," – suggested Akira.

"Good, I'll do that," – Mikan nodded.

She didn't know what else to do anyway, and forcing Rito might have a negative effect on him.

"By the way, I have something to tell you..." – said Akira.

Then he told her about Haruna and how she had confessed, and...

...

With Akira.

After getting home and telling the girls what had happened, how Haruna had confessed to me and I accepted, they were quite happy, or rather, there were different reactions.

Lala, Momo, and Peke were quite happy, while Nana and Yami sighed and looked at me as if to say: It's about time!

It seems they all already knew something like this would happen, so they weren't very surprised, and soon each one went back to doing what they were doing.

Lala and Momo were simply enjoying their Smartphones, while Nana, Yami, Peke, and I were enjoying one of our favorite shows: Magical Girl Kyoko!

Kyouko was one of the sub-heroines of To Love Ru who appeared after Run became an actress on that show.

Of course, there was no progress with Kyouko in the original story, just a bit of meaningless ecchi.

The problem is: How do I meet Kyouko? And even worse: How do I get her to notice me?

Even though she's a sub-heroine, she is a beauty, and I don't intend to leave her be; I want her to be part of my harem. The problem is how.

While I was thinking about it, I received a call from Mikan, which was strange considering she never usually calls at this hour.

By the way, we had a lot of homework today and couldn't go to Mikan's house, so I couldn't tell her about Haruna or anything, nor did I tell Kari... And I also have to give the necklace to Mikan and Haruna!

I have too many things to do!

Anyway, after answering Mikan's call, Mikan told me something curious.

Apparently, Rito had arrived home strangely today, with red eyes as if he had cried and a lost look, like a zombie.

According to Mikan, he even chose not to have dinner and barely spoke to her ; according to her, he told her he didn't want to eat, and when she tried to talk to him, he slammed the door in her face.

What could have happened to him? Rito never behaved like this; he didn't even do it in the manga once. I don't think I even saw him angry more than a couple of times in the whole manga.

Could it be that he saw Haruna confessing to me? No, it's impossible; after all, I saw him heading to his club after classes ended, so it's impossible.

"Leave him be. Maybe something just upset him. Let him rest until tomorrow, and maybe he'll recover on his own," – I suggested.

I had no idea what was wrong with him, but we all have days when we don't feel like doing anything or are inexplicably angry, so it's possible he just needs to be alone with his thoughts.

"I'll do that," – said Mikan.

"By the way, I have something to tell you..." – I said.

Then I told her about Haruna and everything that had happened
