Chapter 224 - Chapter 224

"We... we just wanted to take over this abandoned building complex..."

The little thug stammered as he spoke.

Nathan's brows furrowed slightly. At a time like this, he still dared to lie?

Even if someone wanted this abandoned site, they'd need the resources to develop it.

Who would believe a bunch of thugs were trying to take over a near-ruin?

"Pangoro, show this guy some of your enthusiasm," Nathan snorted coldly and gave the order.

There's a way to deal with good people, but when it comes to bad ones, there's no need for methods—direct action is the best option!

Before the thug could even react, Pangoro grabbed him by the ankle.

In the next second, he was swinging like a slipper in Pangoro's hand, getting flung back and forth.

After about a dozen swings, Nathan finally told Pangoro to let him go.

The other thugs nearby, seeing this, wisely turned around and ran.

What a joke—someone this strong, who fights at the drop of a hat? You think they're going to stick around to get beaten?

"Ready to tell the truth now?"

Nathan squatted down and asked with a cold sneer.

The thug, now dizzy and foaming at the mouth from the beating, quickly replied:

"Y-Yes... Some guys paid us to make sure no one came near this abandoned site for a while..."

He didn't dare lie anymore. That spinning experience—he'd never forget it in his life.

The blood rushing to his head made him feel absolutely awful, beyond words.

Just then, Nathan's phone rang—it was a call from Logan.

"Nathan, how's it going on your side?"

The moment the call connected, Logan asked anxiously.

"I'm at the abandoned building complex right now. A Dark Organization is likely inside,"

Nathan replied, eyeing the crumbling structure and releasing all of his Pokémon at once.

"The liquid that was dumped into the sea has been tested. It's a special compound that enrages Pokémon and has a mind-controlling component as well,"

Logan shared the test results.

When the results came in, he had been utterly shocked.

Humans had coexisted with Pokémon for over a century, and no one had ever developed something capable of controlling them.

Yet now, a Dark Organization had done it.

Luckily, Grace City managed to stop the Pokémon riots in time, but what about other places?

If something similar happened elsewhere, no one could guarantee those cities could hold out.

"These people... they truly deserve death!"

Nathan was furious. Ever since he came to this world, he had grown up alongside Pokémon.

He had deep emotional ties to them. Even with wild Pokémon, he had never killed a single one.

Let alone used them as tools to attack cities.

"We'll deal with the rest after the riot is over. For now, I'm going to hunt down those rats!"

Nathan ended the call right then and there.

He was burning with rage. All he wanted now was to end the riot quickly and give the Dark Organization a harsh lesson.

"Eevee, can you track those people?"

Nathan turned to ask his Eevee.

"Vee~"

Eevee nodded vigorously and pointed in a direction.

Following Eevee's lead, Nathan arrived at the last building in the complex.

"Volcarona, take to the sky. No matter who comes out, knock them down!"

"Metagross, Pangoro, stay below and pin down anyone that gets knocked out!"

Then, Nathan led the rest of his Pokémon into the building.

As soon as Nathan stepped inside the abandoned building, he felt a murderous intent!

It made him instantly heighten his guard.

"Looks like their goal isn't just to incite a riot..."

Nathan thought to himself.

In the empty building, the echo of footsteps from Nathan and his Pokémon sounded strangely loud.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk... Who would've thought we'd catch a big fish today? The national champion himself—what a jackpot."

A voice suddenly rang out.

Following the sound, Nathan saw a man in a black hoodie. His hood covered his face, hiding his features.

But the raspy voice and skeletal hands practically screamed villain.

"A big fish, huh? We'll see who's fishing who,"

Nathan replied with a cold snort.

His Pokémon immediately stepped in front of him, sensing the oppressive aura from the man.

It was like facing a demon that had crawled straight out of hell.

"Come on out, my precious. Kill this little brat, and we'll be able to enjoy ourselves for a while."

As the man spoke, a Aegislash appeared—a level 57 Elite-class one.

But this Aegislash hadn't evolved normally. Its appearance and aura were both twisted.

Instead of the usual gold and blue, this one was completely black and gray.

Though Aegislash is normally Steel/Ghost type, this one seemed to have lost its Steel typing entirely, leaving only Ghost.

Just looking at it sent chills down one's spine.

"Heh... I really don't understand how The Tiger lost to you."

The man chuckled grimly.

"You know The Tiger? Then that means you're with Chiyou too?"

Nathan raised an eyebrow. From the man's tone, he seemed to look down on The Tiger, which suggested he was a higher-up in the organization.

"That's right. You can call me Black Soul. Remember that name—because I'll be the one who kills you!"

Unlike The Tiger, Black Soul never tried to recruit anyone.

Everyone who had ever faced him had been brutally killed.

"So confident. I guess I'm doomed today, huh?"

Nathan mocked, feigning sorrow.

But the burning anger in his eyes made it clear—he wasn't planning on losing.

"Zeraora, charge up!"

Zeraora's limbs began to spark as it built up power.

The battle was about to explode.

"So, this is the national champion? Aegislash, use Shadow Sneak! Target Nathan directly!"

Black Soul gave a shocking order—not to attack Nathan's Pokémon, but Nathan himself!

If this were an official match, such a move would get you banned for life.

But this wasn't a match!

Aegislash melted into the shadows. When it reappeared, it was already behind Nathan, transformed into a massive sword thrusting straight at him!

Before Nathan's Pokémon could react, the blade was upon him—

But at that crucial moment, a thin light barrier appeared around Nathan.

The attack bounced off, the force deflecting Aegislash away.

Black Soul's eyes widened in surprise.

And then—a figure appeared.

"Mewtwo!"

Black Soul's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Of course he recognized Mewtwo. Their organization had spent years researching it.

But wasn't Mewtwo still in their lab? How had it ended up with Nathan?

"How did you get Mewtwo?!"

Black Soul asked in shock.

"Maybe you should spend more time online. I already used Mewtwo in a tournament,"

Nathan replied coolly.

Clearly, this guy didn't browse the web much.

Didn't even know Nathan had Mewtwo—and he still dared to call himself part of a Dark Organization?

"Mewtwo, use Amnesia on Aegislash!"

Nathan immediately issued a command.

A flash of white light—and Aegislash entered a brief state of confusion.

Nathan wasn't wasting this opportunity—he was going to end this twisted Aegislash now!

"Zeraora, use Thunder Chidori! Continuous strikes!"

Zeraora's hands sparked, unleashing a flurry of electric-charged punches at the disoriented Aegislash.

Still dazed, Aegislash was knocked high into the air, smashing through a floor above before coming to a stop.

But Nathan wasn't done!

"Mewtwo, use Psychic to hold Aegislash in place—then follow up with Fire Blast!

Zeraora, use Thunder Punch!"

Aegislash barely recovered, only to face another wave of attacks.

Mewtwo's psychic power locked it in place.

The Fire Blast exploded on impact, blowing craters into the walls and floor.

Then, Zeraora's glowing fist struck, sending currents of electricity coursing violently through Aegislash's body.

The battle was far from over—but for now, Nathan had the upper hand.
