Chapter 312 - Chapter 312

His mission…

Initially, he had thought that with Gyarados having its own Iron Body technique and so many resources at its disposal, it could at least help him complete the mission.

But he hadn't expected the Liberty Unions to be so disrespectful.

Now he couldn't be blamed for not being polite.

If you piss him off—

You'll have to pay the price.

"Hmph, Nathan, I almost forgot you were still around. But don't think my Guzzlord is like the other Pokémon I've used!"

Hearing Nathan's voice, the Liberty Union contestant turned his head and looked at him.

He had immense confidence in his Guzzlord.

Back when he caught it, he had paid a huge price.

But in exchange for that high cost, he obtained an equally powerful Pokémon.

So, what if your Gyarados is nearly 100 meters tall Dynamax?

It still lost to my Guzzlord, didn't it?

When Gyarados went berserk earlier, Nathan had also stepped in.

The Liberty Union had seen clearly how Nathan's Volcarona and Frosmoth were utterly helpless in the face of that raging beast.

But some things can't be judged just by surface appearances.

Was it possible that a Volcarona and Frosmoth trained by Nathan up to champion-level couldn't beat a Dynamaxed Gyarados?

That was absolutely impossible.

Nathan had deliberately chosen not to reveal their true strength.

Even later, when Mewtwo intervened, it had purely relied on brute force to suppress the rampaging Gyarados.

Of course, the Liberty Union contestants hadn't seen that part.

"Is that so? Come out, Mewtwo."

Nathan calmly summoned his Mewtwo.

Facing Guzzlord, Nathan had no intention of hiding Mewtwo's true power anymore.

As soon as it appeared, Nathan immediately had Mewtwo Mega Evolve.

Upon transforming into Mewtwo X, its near-perfect physique stunned everyone watching.

"I'll give you some time. Go ahead and heal up Guzzlord, let it recover its strength."

Nathan said this nonchalantly after Mewtwo completed its transformation.

Guzzlord had just fought a Dynamaxed Gyarados and was still injured and fatigued.

Defeating it now wouldn't deliver a significant blow.

What Nathan wanted was a crushing blow—

One that would mentally break the opponent and plunge them into total despair!

"You brought this on yourself."

The Liberty Union contestant laughed even more arrogantly.

Giving him time to recover his Pokémon?

This Nathan guy must be overconfident.

He quickly used healing items to restore Guzzlord's health and stamina.

Soon, Guzzlord returned to the field in its peak condition.

Nathan watched lazily as he watched the overly confident opponent.

He chuckled to himself.

You beat a Gyarados and suddenly think you're a big shot?

"Mewtwo, use Imprison and Bulk Up."

Nathan's lazy voice rang out.

Mewtwo followed the command, flexing its muscles slightly.

Its power surged instantly.

Online viewers were drooling over Nathan's Mewtwo—

So cool, so perfect.

This was the dream Pokémon for many.

Unfortunately, Mewtwo was a Pokémon they'd only ever seen in Nathan's hands—

Never once in the wild.

"Imprison? Bulk Up? Are you kidding me, Nathan?

Are you planning to have your Pokémon arm wrestle with my Guzzlord?"

The Liberty Union contestant couldn't help but burst out laughing.

These were just stat-boosting moves.

In a battle of this caliber, how much use could they really have?

"Arm wrestle? Sorry, my Pokémon prefers playing basketball and soccer."

Nathan replied calmly, as if he were just chatting about the weather.

Anyone with half a brain could tell—

What he really meant was that, to Mewtwo, Guzzlord was nothing but a ball.

Though to be fair… that ball was massive.

"Damn it! Guzzlord, use Belch and Gastro Acid!"

Furious at Nathan's mockery, the Liberty Union contestant shouted.

Guzzlord opened its massive mouth and let out a long, guttural belch.

From deep within its throat, thick black-purple toxic gas poured out, rushing straight toward Mewtwo.

Right afterward, just like it had against Gyarados, Guzzlord launched a jet of stomach acid—

A corrosive, noxious liquid aimed directly at Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo, use Blizzard! Stop its attack!"

Nathan ordered swiftly.

Mewtwo raised its hands, summoning an icy wind from above.

The howling snowstorm blew away the poisonous gas, while the stomach acid was instantly frozen midair.

Of course, with other Pokémon, Blizzard probably wouldn't have been this effective.

But this was Mewtwo.

Even a move like Blizzard, in its hands, had devastating force.

"Mewtwo, go on the offensive—

Catch that thing for me!"

Nathan grinned wickedly.

Playing soccer in the World Tournament?

He was probably the only one bold enough to do it.

Mewtwo shot into the sky.

The frozen stomach acid chunks hadn't even hit the ground before—

BAM!

A sharp kick launched them skyward again.

Each chunk of frozen acid was like a football—

Fired toward Guzzlord's mouth at blinding speed.

Its gaping maw was the goal.

The frozen stomach acid—now a makeshift ball—landed perfectly in its mouth.

A clean shot!

But of course, the frozen acid didn't hurt Guzzlord at all.

It simply ate it.

Classic Guzzlord—

Eating even its own vomit like it was nothing.

But Mewtwo's attack had only just begun!

In a flash, Mewtwo appeared right beside Guzzlord, ready to strike again.

"Guzzlord, use Crunch!"

The Liberty Union contestant reacted quickly.

Seeing Mewtwo coming straight at it, he immediately had Guzzlord retaliate.

Guzzlord's huge mouth opened wide—

Wide enough to envelop Mewtwo entirely.

The jaws snapped shut.

Its fangs were so sharp, they even gouged a chunk of the ground beneath it.

"It's over. Guzzlord's most terrifying trait is its teeth—

It can chew through anything.

Even if Mewtwo isn't dead, it's probably crippled."

Contestants watching the match sighed in sympathy.

"Such a good Pokémon…

Wasted in a battle like this.

I guess Nathan isn't so great at everything after all."

"Ha! Nathan, looks like your Pokémon wasn't all that special after all."

The Liberty Union contestant beamed with pride.

If even the legendary Mewtwo had been devoured by his Guzzlord, then the match was as good as won.

Nathan—so highly valued by Samuel—

Taken out in the very first round?

He felt like he was destined for greatness after this.

But just as the spectators began to mourn Mewtwo…

And just as the opponent basked in victory…

Nathan remained motionless, as if nothing had happened.

He stood there, completely calm, expression unchanged—

As though the Pokémon swallowed just now wasn't his.

"Are you sure you understand the situation?

You're celebrating way too early."

Just as Nathan spoke—

Crack!

The sound of splintering rock echoed from inside Guzzlord's mouth.

A flexible tail shattered the stones blocking its way—

And Mewtwo reappeared.

It stood with both feet on Guzzlord's lower jaw,

One hand bracing against its top teeth,

The other gripping one of Guzzlord's limbs tightly.

Guzzlord struggled with all its might—

But no matter how hard it tried, it couldn't close its mouth.

"…What?"

Gasps of disbelief spread through the crowd.

No one expected Mewtwo to have such monstrous strength.

Generally speaking, bigger bodies meant more raw power—

For both Pokémon and humans.

But Mewtwo was the exception.

Standing at just around three meters, it was large, sure—

But nowhere near Guzzlord's towering bulk.

And yet…

It was stronger.

"Now the real show begins!"

Nathan's voice rang out once again.

With a sudden burst of power, Mewtwo ripped itself free from Guzzlord's jaws—

But it didn't let go of the limb it had grabbed.

With just one hand, Mewtwo swung Guzzlord's colossal body and slammed it hard into the ground.

The shockwave shook the entire island.

Every spectator felt the quake under their feet.

And this… was only the beginning.

As Guzzlord lay dazed, Mewtwo soared into the sky.

Then, just as swiftly, it dove.

Its leg extended, striking Guzzlord's body with brutal precision.

The beast's massive frame cratered—its flesh visibly caved in.

But thanks to its rubbery body, it quickly bounced back—

Literally.

Guzzlord bounced off the ground like a giant ball!

Mewtwo wasn't done.

It flew beneath the falling Guzzlord—

And with a perfectly-timed high kick, launched it even higher into the sky.

And then—

It followed up with a clean, devastating punch to Guzzlord's gut mid-air…
