Diandra stiffened. "Forgive me, Sir. I did not mean to appear so impolite. I was merely… observing."
Finally, he looked at her, one brow arching ever so slightly. "Observing?"
"Yes." She replied, folding her hands primly in her lap as if to shield herself from his piercing gaze. "That object you hold—it looks like a larger version of the small devices I have seen people carry. It is another kind of weapon? Or… a mirror of sorts? Or perhaps a device that issues commands to your army?"
Kael blinked. Then, to her dismay, he laughed under his breath. "A mirror? An army?" He leaned back, showing her the object, she was curious about. "It's called a tablet. You read on it, work on it. Nothing dangerous." He paused, then added. "Unless you count how distracting it can be."
"No armies at your beck and call?" Her expression was too precious like a child. He found it quite amusing.
