Chapter 215 - Devotion

I stayed at home, checking on my son through the nanny cam in his nursery. Jane arrived late, but she's looking after him now. I don't know how long I'm supposed to wait, but knowing there are people out there hunting my wife… it twists something in my gut that refuses to settle. I must've dozed off, but every dream I had was a damn nightmare.

I glanced at the sofa where Grandpa had fallen asleep, exhausted after giving out more commands than any man his age should. He kept trying to contact Livana, but we couldn't get through to her. Jane confirmed she was safe, but it didn't ease the anxiety clawing at my stomach.

My phone buzzes—Livana? No. The number is unfamiliar, probably one of the untraceable ones.

Zero:Will be home shortly. We also found Caine safe and sound. ~loveu

I pressed my lips together, feeling that stupid, indescribable warmth—whatever people feel when they're over the moon. I just stared at the message. God, I can't wait to see her.
