Chapter 180 - Disappointing

No one wanted to lose. To lose meant to be at the mercy of others. While the treatment for the weak was varied, it typically ranged from slavery to annihilation.

What losing did give one were lessons in humility and understanding.

By losing one had the option to blame others and remain the same, or to learn and adapt.

The Naga, which were losers by every conceivable metric, were the champions in this area. They had no inherent strengths like other races; in some respects, they were the closest to humans.

Thus, much like people, they had several lessons in humility. So much so that there no longer lay any trace of arrogance in their mentalities. What remained instead was a desire to get stronger.

"They remind me of you, darling," Bianca commented with a smile.

"Me?" Elian pointed to himself, confused.

The witch nodded as she watched the Naga.
