Chapter 66 - Chapter 65 - A Very MC Snow Removal Method (5K)

After Fu Zhu and the others finished their discussion regarding the Stellaron Hunters, Welt called Cocolia back to continue discussing the matter of the Eternal Freeze.

After a brief meeting, Welt concluded from the situation on Jarilo-VI that even with the Stellaron sealed, the planet's Eternal Freeze would still require at least a century to thaw.

Upon hearing this conclusion, Cocolia, Bronya, and Seele were filled with gloom. A hundred years was far too long for them, for Belobog.

After learning of this dreadful news, Bronya almost instinctively turned her head to look at Fu Zhu.

"Fu Zhu, do you have any way to make the Eternal Freeze end sooner?"

Hearing Bronya ask Fu Zhu for help, Cocolia, Seele, and even Fu Zhu's own companions like March 7th couldn't help but reveal expressions of shock.

Ending the Eternal Freeze? That was tantamount to changing a planet's entire natural ecosystem. Could Fu Zhu really do that?!

Bronya sensed their astonishment and knew she was asking for too much. She quickly apologized.

"I'm sorry, Fu Zhu. Just pretend I was talking nonsense..."

But as soon as Bronya finished her apology, she and the others noticed that Fu Zhu was actually starting to think about it seriously.

Xing's eyes widened as she couldn't help but ask, "Old bro, don't tell me you actually have that kind of ability?!"

Even Welt couldn't hide his surprise. "Altering a natural environment is something that would require a massive amount of resources and a considerable length of time, even with the IPC's latest technology. But you, Fu Zhu..."

Hearing Welt look down on him like that, Fu Zhu felt a little unhappy.

"Uncle Yang, I don't know what this 'IPC' organization you speak of is, but when it comes to resources, I alone am more than enough to match their entire organization!"

The infinite resources represented by Redstone technology were no joke!

To prove himself, and to prove the invincibility of MC, Fu Zhu immediately held up his fingers.

"I have upper, middle, and lower strategies!"

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Fu Zhu had barely gotten the words out before March 7th quickly cut him off. Her eyes were wide as she asked tentatively,

"Fu Zhu, your upper, middle, and lower strategies... they're not physical, upper, middle, and lower strategies again, are they?"

Fu Zhu shot a glare at March 7th and asked with a hint of playful grievance, "Little March, what did I ever do to offend you? Why would you want to work me to death like that?!"

"You really do have them!"

"Physical-level upper, middle, and lower strategies certainly exist. It's just that Jarilo-VI isn't so far gone that I need to sacrifice a lifetime for it."

For Steve, any problem that could be solved on a physical level wasn't a problem at all. Worst case scenario, he could just unleash a World-Eater!

Snowy plains, the Eternal Freeze—he'd wipe them all out together!

But such a crude and convenient method was not applicable to the current Jarilo-VI. After all, once the Eternal Freeze receded, Jarilo-VI was still meant for people to live on. If the planet itself was gone, where would the people of Belobog go?

"Fu Zhu, let's hear your strategies first," Welt said, extremely curious about Fu Zhu's plans. Dan Heng had told him before that their trailblazing journey on Jarilo-VI had gone so smoothly entirely thanks to Fu Zhu's help.

Fu Zhu thought for a moment, but shook his head, rejecting Welt's proposal. This left Welt a bit confused.

"Is the strategy inconvenient to implement?"

"No, it's just that I haven't verified if these methods are feasible yet. I have to experiment first."

"Then let's go verify them!" Cocolia stood up eagerly and declared, "Everyone in Belobog, high and low, will cooperate with your actions, Fu Zhu. Just tell us what you need."

Since Cocolia had said as much, Fu Zhu didn't refuse any longer and also rose from his seat.

"Then let's make a trip to the snowy plains. Oh, and Cocolia, I'll also need to trouble you to have your people find some obsidian, or some deep purple, high-hardness rocks. If you really can't find any, then just trouble them to bring me a few buckets of lava."

Although Cocolia didn't understand what Fu Zhu needed obsidian and lava for, she nodded in agreement. She immediately ordered her subordinates to find the corresponding items, while she herself had a vehicle prepared to take Fu Zhu and the others to the nearest snowy plain outside the city.

Ten minutes later, Fu Zhu and the others disembarked the vehicle on a snowy plain.

"Fu Zhu, does this plain meet your requirements?" Cocolia asked impatiently as soon as they got out.

Fu Zhu glanced around but didn't answer immediately. After all, some things could only be confirmed after experimentation.

Fu Zhu walked onto the snowy plain, took his crafting table out of his inventory, and slammed it down. He then pulled out a shovel and began digging in the snow. In just a short while, a huge pit appeared before everyone.

Xing, March 7th, and Bronya crowded around the edge of the pit, squatting down to watch Fu Zhu, who was busy digging away at the four walls inside.

March 7th couldn't help but ask, "Fu Zhu, what are you trying to do?"

Fu Zhu, digging away energetically, replied without even lifting his head, "Looking for flint!"

To verify his hypothesis, the simplest way was to find flint and craft some flint and steel.

Fortunately, Fu Zhu's luck was pretty good. After just three or four minutes of work, he had successfully dug up a few pieces of flint, enough to support all his planned experiments.

After finding the flint, Fu Zhu immediately pillared his way out of the pit with blocks and placed the materials into the crafting table to make flint and steel.

Welt and the others watched Fu Zhu bustle about, but they had no idea what he was doing. Unable to contain their curiosity, they asked again.

"Fu Zhu, can you tell us your strategy now?"

"Hold on a bit longer."

Fu Zhu casually picked a patch of snow and used the flint and steel to light a fire directly on top of the snow block.

The fire appeared very abruptly, and it burned fiercely without any combustible material, which surprised Welt and Cocolia. The former even went forward to inspect it, but found no trace of any power related to the Paths.

Besides, all Fu Zhu had done was wave a small object in his hand; he hadn't smelled any gasoline or anything of the sort.

In no time at all, the snow around the fire began to melt into water, which then extinguished the flame.

"It worked!" Fu Zhu exclaimed with delight, which only confused the others even more.

Xing scratched her head in confusion. "Old bro, what do you mean, it worked? Are you trying to say the fire melted the snow? Isn't it common sense that snow melts when the temperature gets high?"

"This is different."

Fu Zhu smiled and shook his finger, then began to explain. "Next up, a little science lesson about my hometown."

"First, snow blocks will melt on their own in a non-cold biome when the surrounding light level reaches 11. The light in this case includes both natural and non-natural light. Of course, this rule only applies to my hometown, but the light emitted by tools made from my hometown can also affect the snow on Jarilo-VI."

"Second, fire and projectiles with a flame effect can directly destroy snow that isn't a full snow block."

In MC, snow can be divided into several types: powder snow, snow blocks, and the full blocks that are formed from eight layers of top snow.

Among these, aside from full snow blocks which cannot be destroyed by Flame-enchanted arrows or flaming projectiles, the other two types can be destroyed by these burning projectiles.

This was the fastest method of clearing the Eternal Freeze that Fu Zhu could think of, aside from using commands to forcibly change the biome or flooding Jarilo-VI with lava.

Of course, solving the Eternal Freeze wasn't as simple as just clearing snow blocks. But raising the temperature and clearing the snow weren't mutually exclusive tasks.

The others listened to Fu Zhu's explanation, feeling like something was off, even though it sounded perfectly scientific.

Worried they wouldn't understand, Fu Zhu turned his gaze to Bronya.

"Bronya, do you have your gun with you? Come here and help me with an experiment."

Bronya nodded, unslung the rifle she carried on her back, and walked over to Fu Zhu's side.

"What do I need to do?"

Fu Zhu once again used the flint and steel to light the block in front of him, then pointed at the fire and said to Bronya, "Make your bullet pass through this fire and aim for those snow blocks."

Bronya did as she was told. After a simple aim, a gunshot rang out.

Everyone could clearly see that the instant Bronya's gun fired, the bullet passed through the fire and became wreathed in flames.

As the flaming bullet passed through the snow blocks, they were destroyed one by one in cubic-meter chunks. Not even a drop of water or a wisp of mist was left behind; it was as if they had been completely erased.

"How miraculous!"

"I've never seen such a method of snow removal."

After watching Fu Zhu's demonstration, Welt immediately understood his plan.

He intended to use the special "rules" from his hometown to help Belobog clear the snow quickly, thereby accelerating the end of the Eternal Freeze.

At this point, Fu Zhu crossed his arms and smilingly revealed his upper, middle, and lower strategies.

"Now, let me tell you about the upper, middle, and lower strategies I mentioned earlier."

"The lower strategy: I can help you guys get some lava. You can spread the lava all over the snowy plains yourselves. The special lava I create is guaranteed to exist forever, unless it encounters water."

"The middle strategy: I will craft a batch of recyclable and never-extinguishing torches for you. You can use them to raise the light level on the plains and let the snow melt on its own. However, this strategy will only work if this region was not a cold biome before the Eternal Freeze. Otherwise, it's useless."

"The upper strategy: We use the method I just demonstrated, combined with the middle strategy. We clear the snow blocks while raising the light level and temperature to speed up the end of the Eternal Freeze."

Cocolia and Welt nodded after hearing this. They both felt that this method, without borrowing help from other organizations like the IPC, was the fastest way to help Jarilo-VI end the Eternal Freeze.

"What do you need us to do, Fu Zhu?"

Cocolia was already prepared to mobilize the entire nation to carry out Fu Zhu's strategy.

"Don't worry too much. This plan won't consume many of Jarilo-VI's resources. It'll just cost some bullets. If you think bullets are too expensive, you can use bows and arrows, or snowballs."

Hearing this, Xing and March 7th were stunned and asked in unison, "Fu Zhu (Old bro), snowballs and bows work too?"

"Of course. As long as a projectile can pass through the fire, it will gain a flame effect. Of course, this is limited to fire and lava."

Fearing the two girls wouldn't believe him, Fu Zhu took out a snowball from his inventory and tossed it straight at the unextinguished flame.

The snowball's flight was much slower than a bullet's, allowing everyone to more clearly observe it become wreathed in a layer of fire after passing through the flame.

The effect was the same as Bronya's bullet from before. All the snow blocks in its path were eliminated, though the snowball couldn't fly as far as a bullet and fell to the ground after a few meters.

When Xing and March 7th saw this, they couldn't sit still. They still had the snowballs Fu Zhu had given them to play with!

They both whipped out their snowballs, ran to the fire, and began hurling them to eliminate the snow blocks one by one.

While the two girls were having fun, Fu Zhu turned to Cocolia and said, "I need a large amount of wood and coal to make torches. You can have someone prepare a batch. Of course, it doesn't need to be too much, since the torches are recyclable."

To demonstrate for Cocolia, Fu Zhu specially crafted and took out four torches.

However, the torches Fu Zhu produced were slightly different in detail from the torches everyone understood them to be.

Although the torches Fu Zhu took out burned with a flame and one could feel the heat they emitted, the fire on top could not be used to ignite other materials.

But when Fu Zhu distributed the torches to Cocolia, Welt, Bronya, and Dan Heng, the four of them instinctively tried various methods to extinguish the flames on the torches, thus verifying Fu Zhu's claim of them being "never-extinguishing."

The result was, what Fu Zhu said was true!

Welt even tried to use his powers to create a vacuum around the torch, depriving it of oxygen to burn. But even then, the torch continued to burn. He even discovered that he was fundamentally unable to create a perfect vacuum around the torch!

Within that one-cubic-meter area where the torch was, no matter how hard Welt tried, the air inside simply could not be evacuated!

The actions of Cocolia and the others were more straightforward. They chose to shove the torches upside down into the snow, yet the flames didn't go out. This left the three of them dumbfounded.

Cocolia looked at Fu Zhu, somewhat bewildered, and asked haltingly, "Fu Zhu... do the people of your hometown use such miraculous technology on... torches?"

Cocolia couldn't understand. A never-extinguishing torch was clearly made with some kind of advanced technology. So why was it a torch, such a primitive lighting tool?

His hometown had Redstone blocks, an infinite energy source. Why not make something like an infinite-energy flashlight?

"Well... maybe it's a personal preference."

Fu Zhu had no way of explaining why there were only torches and no flashlights in MC, so all he could say was...

Mind your own business about MC matters!

"Fu Zhu, I have a question. We can't create this special flame like you can, and you can't stay on Jarilo-VI forever. After you leave, won't these plans come to a halt?"

Bronya, who had been standing to the side, suddenly raised this question, causing Cocolia, who had been overjoyed by Fu Zhu's plan, to feel her heart sink.

That's right, Fu Zhu couldn't possibly stay on Jarilo-VI forever. Unless... he had a reason not to leave!

As she thought this, Cocolia's gaze once again fell upon Bronya and Fu Zhu.

Fu Zhu, however, was already prepared. He turned his head to Cocolia and said, "Once you have the Silvermane Guards find the things I need, this problem will be solved."

The torches were infinitely reusable, so there was no need to worry about running out of them after he left.

As for the flame, that was also easy to solve. It wasn't just projectiles passing through fire that could gain the effect of destroying snow.

Anything related to MC would be affected by MC's rules. This point would hold true whether Fu Zhu was nearby or not.

The Flame enchantment could achieve the same thing!

Not long after, Fu Zhu and the others saw a team of Silvermane Guards escorting a vehicle laden with cargo approaching them.

"Great Guardian, honored Nameless, we've found everything you asked for. Please inspect the items."

A Silvermane Guard stepped forward, lifted the tarp covering the vehicle, and revealed large chunks of obsidian and various other materials Fu Zhu needed.

Fu Zhu walked over first, glanced at the materials, and nodded in satisfaction.

The materials were all there, enough for him to craft what he needed next.

It was time to give Jarilo-VI another MC shock!

Fu Zhu opened his MOD library and selected a small, auxiliary mod he had wanted to buy for a while.

[Advanced Enchanting Table]

[Achievement Points Required: 20]

The Advanced Enchanting Table was more convenient than a regular one. You just had to place the item you wanted to enchant on it, and you could directly enchant it with any possible enchantment, without having to deal with the frustration of random enchantments.

It could even be modded to allow treasure enchantments like Mending to be applied on it.

Of course, the Advanced Enchanting Table still consumed experience, but that wasn't a problem for Fu Zhu.

While there were even more game-breaking mods than the Advanced Enchanting Table, like the Disenchanting/Editing Table.

But the Disenchanting/Editing Table had one drawback: it couldn't directly enchant items that had no enchantments. It could only freely modify the enchantments and their levels on already-enchanted items, and it didn't consume experience.

So, before using the Disenchanting/Editing Table, he still needed a MOD that could conveniently enchant things for him.

The Advanced Enchanting Table also had another advantage: it was compatible with other MODs' enchantments. In the future, when Fu Zhu bought other enchanting MODs, he could still use the Advanced Enchanting Table to apply those new enchantments.

And most importantly, the default crafting recipe for the Advanced Enchanting Table was very simple. It only required vanilla MC items, which meant he could quickly craft this MOD item right now.
