"You despicable human! Don't you even know the basic courtesy of answering someone's question?!"
Hulei was furious. How could the Xianzhou people of today not even understand the most basic etiquette? They were worse than its own Bu Li Ren people!
At least the Bu Li Ren were quite 'forthright' when it came to answering questions; they would never just start attacking without a word.
But Fu Zhu, with one slash after another, watched as the combo rating in his vision rapidly climbed.
As Hulei was continuously hacked, it endured the sharp pain wracking its body and couldn't help but roar in anger again.
"Human, do you not have a mouth?! Just hacking and slashing the moment you come in! Heh… I get it. Was one of your relatives among the Xianzhou people I killed in the past? Haha, maybe your relative was a mute just like you, and that's why they couldn't beg me for mercy!"
Seeing Hulei actually dare to try and provoke him, Fu Zhu finally couldn't take it anymore and retorted irritably.
"Are you some kind of lunatic? I'm not a Xianzhou native. I just learned your name ten minutes ago. And since you asked, I'll be merciful and answer your other question: do you chat with your experience baby? For crying out loud, I'm farming EXP here, who has time for you? Just shut up and take the hits, alright?"
After saying his piece, Fu Zhu continued to swing the Ōdachi, hacking away at Hulei's body.
Hearing Fu Zhu's explanation, Hulei felt an indescribable sense of indignation.
Since he was an outsider from beyond the Xianzhou and had no prior grudge against it, what kind of lunatic would run in here and start hacking away at it?
Was he using it as a whetstone?!
And what about those idiots from the Ten-Lords Commission? How did they agree to let this psychopath in?! They had clearly tried hundreds of methods on it and failed to kill it. Did they think letting an outsider in would do the trick?!
"Human whelp! If you have the guts, release me! See if I don't rip your throat out!"
Fu Zhu remained silent, just hacking away.
"Damn it, you human whelp! You must be scared, aren't you? Hahaha, you got scared by me, didn't you!"
Fu Zhu remained silent, just hacking away.
"Damn it all, you human whelp, say something! If you have the guts to come in here and attack me, then have the guts to open your mouth!"
Hulei felt extremely sullen. For a hundred years, it had been imprisoned here, subjected to the punishment of a thousand blades. The physical pain was tolerable, but the crushing boredom and loneliness of the prison were impossible to completely erase.
Finally, a human had arrived, allowing it to vent the century of anger it had accumulated. It didn't even care if the other party was a Xianzhou native or not, but unfortunately, the other party was a psychopath!
He wouldn't say a single word, all he knew was to hack, hack, hack!
"Human whelp…"
Hulei opened its mouth again, wanting to provoke Fu Zhu, forcing him to speak, even if it was just to curse back at it.
The next second, Fu Zhu stopped the swinging motion of his hands, took a block out of his inventory, and placed it on the ground to his right. Then he took out his phone and casually selected a movie to play.
Fortunately, even in this Shackling Prison, his phone still had a signal.
Fu Zhu then took out another little gadget to act as a phone stand, placed the phone on the block in front of him, and finally put on his earphones. While watching the movie, he resumed swinging the Ōdachi at Hulei's body.
"As expected, when you're AFK farming, you've gotta put on a little video to watch."
It was a shame the system didn't have a function to play movies. Otherwise, Fu Zhu would have made the system put on a film so he could leisurely farm Glory Value.
Two minutes later, Hulei stared with its crimson eyes, which were filled with indignation, and its breathing ceased with a final, resentful gasp.
Fu Zhu paused his hands, glanced at the time on his phone, and began to calculate how long it would take for Hulei to resurrect.
Not thirty seconds later, Hulei's originally vacant eyes became lively again. It opened its mouth, about to curse at Fu Zhu, but Fu Zhu's Ōdachi struck it first.
"Damn you, human whelp!!!"
Two system hours later, Dan Heng's exile order had finally gone through all the procedures. From this moment on, he was no longer a registered criminal on the Luofu.
But he understood that many people on the Luofu were still hostile towards him. Not that he cared. He wouldn't be staying on the Luofu anyway; he just wanted to continue his travels with his companions.
After completing all the procedures, Dan Heng found Hanya and had her take him down to the lowest level of the Shackling Prison, to the door of Hulei's cell.
Dan Heng looked at the still tightly sealed door, with the runic seal still attached, and couldn't help but ask a Military Officer who had been standing guard nearby the whole time.
"How is the situation inside?"
The Military Officer who was asked shook her head and turned to look at the sealed door, an expression of admiration appearing on her face from under her mask.
"The specific situation isn't clear, but that gentleman shouldn't be in any danger. Ever since he went in, we've been able to faintly hear Hulei cursing nonstop."
Dan Heng breathed a sigh of relief. Although he didn't know what Fu Zhu was doing to Hulei, as long as the one screaming was Hulei, it was fine.
Even though he now wanted to personally confirm Fu Zhu's condition, he was worried that opening the door rashly might distract Fu Zhu, so after a moment of thought, he decided to take out his phone and send Fu Zhu a message.
If it was a message, he wouldn't have to worry about distracting Fu Zhu and causing some accident.
At the same time, on the other side of the door, Fu Zhu was watching his movie while farming Hulei when a message suddenly popped up on his phone. He glanced at it; it was from Dan Heng.
[Dan Heng: How are things on your end? If you need help, I can provide support at any time. I'm right outside the door.]
Fu Zhu read it, then picked up his phone, turned around, and click—he took a photo of the miserable-looking Hulei and sent it to Dan Heng.
Hulei, suddenly noticing the flash of light, immediately became alert and asked through gritted teeth, "Human whelp, what were you doing just now!"
Fu Zhu was tapping away at his phone with his head down and replied casually, "Don't panic. I just took a picture of you to show my friend what I'm up to."
"What?!"
Hulei was so enraged that its entire body trembled, rattling the shackles that bound it.
"Human whelp, I warn you! You can kill us Bu Li Ren warriors, but you will not insult me in this way!"
"You're such a grown-up… oh wait, you're a dog. Just a photo, and besides, get your status straight. You're nothing but a prisoner of the Luofu, my little experience baby. Your job is to be quiet and get hit. As thanks for being so cooperative and staying still while I hit you, I'll reward you with a ten-minute break."
After saying that, Fu Zhu pocketed his phone, walked towards the sealed prison door, and crafted a lever on the spot, slapping it onto the wall next to the door.
Although he could use the jade tablet Hanya gave him to notify the people outside to open the door, he didn't plan on leaving just yet. If he used it now, he'd have to ask Hanya for another one, which would be a waste.
By opening the door himself with a lever, he could also show off his abilities to the people outside, letting them relax and not worry about his safety inside.
Fu Zhu pulled the lever on the wall. The previously sealed door immediately let out a clunk and slowly slid open to the sides, the runic seal on it dissipating along with it.
Behind Fu Zhu, Hulei, who had been about to curse some more, was stunned by this scene.
It knew better than anyone how powerful the runic seal on the door that imprisoned it was. To open this door, one would have to be a member of the Ten-Lords Commission or use brute force from the outside.
And yet the human whelp before its eyes had just opened the door with a lever that looked so simple it couldn't be simpler.
Outside the door, Dan Heng was looking at the miserable photo of Hulei that Fu Zhu had sent him when, the next moment, the prison door gradually opened, and the seal was simultaneously undone. This immediately startled him and the nearby Hanya and other members of the Ten-Lords Commission, who hastily got into formation, ready to attack.
But when the door opened and Fu Zhu walked out from inside, everyone was stunned.
Even Hanya, who always spoke with a weary, listless tone, couldn't help but raise her voice a few notches as she asked Fu Zhu in disbelief.
"Mr. Fu Zhu?! How did you open the door?! Are you really Fu Zhu?"
Dan Heng also held his Cloud-Piercer warily and quickly spoke to confirm.
"Fu Zhu, before we entered the Shackling Prison, what did you say to me?"
Fu Zhu froze for a moment, then immediately recalled their conversation about blowing up his "old room." He asked with pleasant surprise, "Dan Heng, did you change your mind?"
Although it wasn't the answer he expected, Dan Heng put away his Cloud-Piercer with a resigned expression. The only people who could say something like that were Fu Zhu… and maybe Xing.
"It really is Fu Zhu."
Although this news allowed Hanya and the others to relax, the question of how Fu Zhu had opened the door from the inside and dispelled the runic seal on it still baffled them.
Hanya couldn't help but ask again, "Mr. Fu Zhu, how did you do that?"
Fu Zhu smiled and spread his hands. "You just install a switch on the door and you can open it, right?"
Hearing this answer, Hanya and the others felt like they were going crazy. It was like a child casually stuffing an elephant into a refrigerator and then telling them all you had to do was open the fridge door. It was bizarre.
If this prison door could be opened by simply installing a switch, then their Ten-Lords Commission should have been abolished long ago!
Dan Heng, however, was well aware of Fu Zhu's miraculous methods, which he had demonstrated before on Jarilo-VI. Although it was astonishing that he could open the prison door so casually, the fact that it was Fu Zhu who did it made it seem quite reasonable.
"You're out now. Is your business finished?"
"No." Fu Zhu shook his head. "I just came out to let you know I'm safe. By the way, Lady Hanya, could you prepare a bed for me? I plan on staying here."
Fu Zhu checked the progress of his Glory Value. He was only halfway there. It was already getting late today. If he farmed for another morning tomorrow, he should be done.
If he went back to the guesthouse today, he'd have to make the trip all over again tomorrow, which was a hassle. It was better to just stay here.
"No!" ×2
The moment Dan Heng and Hanya heard that Fu Zhu wanted to stay, they rejected the idea in unison.
Dan Heng's brows were tightly furrowed, and his words were somewhat agitated. "Fighting Hulei is worrying enough, let alone letting you sleep next to it!"
Hanya nodded in agreement beside him.
Fu Zhu explained with a smile, "Don't worry, I can't die. Even if I die, I can just resurrect."
"Resurrect?" ×2
Hearing that Fu Zhu could resurrect, Dan Heng's expression was merely one of surprise, but the expressions of Hanya and the other members of the Ten-Lords Commission turned strange.
In their Xianzhou eyes, anything related to resurrection was connected to [Abundance]. Could it be that Fu Zhu was also a follower of Abundance?
Fu Zhu noticed the change in their expressions and immediately understood what they were thinking. He crossed his arms and explained irritably.
"Don't get the wrong idea. My resurrection ability doesn't come from [Abundance]. If I were the kind of Abundance-folk you're thinking of, would I have helped the Luofu seal Phantylia and annihilate the Disciples of the Medicine King? If there was anything wrong with me, Jing Yuan would have dealt with me long ago."
Hearing this, Hanya and the others felt it was reasonable and quickly bowed apologetically to Fu Zhu.
"Our apologies, Mr. Fu Zhu."
Fu Zhu waved his hand, not blaming them.
After all, resurrection was a very rare ability, and it was only natural for them to think of [Abundance]. He had forgotten to tell Jing Yuan about this ability before, since he had only recently unlocked Survival Mode.
Otherwise, this misunderstanding wouldn't have happened. It was better to just say it out loud now; the news would surely reach Jing Yuan's ears later.
"So, can you prepare a bed for me now?"
Hanya no longer had any reason to refuse Fu Zhu's request. She could only turn around and go prepare a bed for him to rest.
After Hanya left, Fu Zhu turned to the still-hesitant Dan Heng.
"Dan Heng, I'm serious. I really can resurrect. Do you want me to die for you right now to prove it?"
Dan Heng quickly waved his hands. "No need, I believe you. But don't die too many times just because you can resurrect. Getting used to death is not a good thing."
"Alright, I know. You should head back for today. And let March and the others know how things are on my end, so they don't worry. If you're not at ease, you can contact me anytime."
"Alright."
Since he chose to believe Fu Zhu, Dan Heng didn't hesitate any longer and turned to leave.
Not long after he left, Hanya returned, dragging a folding bed and placing it in front of Fu Zhu.
"Mr. Fu Zhu, is there anything else I can help you with?"
"Nope."
Fu Zhu casually put the folding bed into his inventory, converting it into an MC bed. He then walked back into the cell, and the door began to close behind him.
Hulei looked at the returning Fu Zhu with some surprise. It had thought Fu Zhu was leaving, but unexpectedly, he came back.
Just as it was wondering what Fu Zhu was planning, Fu Zhu turned around and knocked the lever off the wall, putting it back into his inventory to prevent any accidents.
Then, Fu Zhu placed the bed right in front of Hulei and lay down on it.
Hulei's eyes went wide, and it couldn't help but curse internally.
What the fuck?!
Audacious. This was just too audacious! The first time anyone had dared to sleep so openly right in front of it!
It was as if he didn't even see it! Damn you, human whelp!
