The howl split through the trees like a crack of thunder.

I froze mid-step on the ridge, the tension in my shoulders snapping taut. That call wasn't routine. It was a signal—short, sharp, urgent. Not danger, not a fight, but something close. Something important.

Then came the voice through my phone, "We found her."

Lucas' voice was low, steady. But the words hit me like a blow to the chest.

"Where?" I asked, already moving, already changing direction.

"Southwest ridge, half a mile from the ravine. She's barely alive. She needs help. Evan's on his way with her to the infirmary."

My claws itched beneath the surface of my skin, my wolf straining to break free, to run faster, to get to her.

Adelaide—my friend, my packmate. Maybe my enemy now.

But still mine.

I was dialing Sienna as I ran, mind on autopilot, focused on making it back. "Sienna," I said the moment she answered.

"We heard the call. We're heading toward the ridge now—"
