"That's our boss!" Charles exclaimed as a relieved grin spread across his face.
A collective sigh of relief swept through the weary group. They had been on the brink of despair, but Adrian's timely arrival had averted disaster. Cheers erupted, louder this time and filled with genuine gratitude.
"Thank the Goddess, Adrian!"
"You saved our hides!"
"We thought we were done for!"
Eli was among those wielding the mana guns and he chimed in with admiration. "This was a close one, lad. Thank you once again."
Adrian surveyed the battlefield with a calm expression.
"You've all done well. I don't sense any other ones close by, so you can all return to the quarters and rest."
Another round of cheers went up, and the group raised their weapons in victory
They offered their final thanks to Adrian, then turned to begin their trek back home, but Charles, however, didn't join immediate.
His gaze was fixed on Adrian as he asked a question that everyone wanted to know the answer to.
