Rick's POV
My heart shredded over and over again, as I pictured that look on her face when she said those words to me.
I clutched my hands to my chest, my heart kept tugging at me, becoming unbearable with each passing minute. It hurt deep down in my heart.
I sat in the vehicle, by my side were the corps, their presence never mattered, not when those words lingered in my heart.
She never remembered who I was. She never remembered the brief moments we had shared together.
My eyes drifted to the window, the evening breeze touched my hair and face, as the car drove down the street, but it didn't reflect the depth of my heart.
Her beautiful yet delicate face, with those wires attached to her head, wouldn't leave my mind. It never stopped haunting me over again.
I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I would stay by her side, no matter what. I had to find a way to help her remember that I love her. I couldn't let go, not after seeing her again.
