Chapter 10 - Chapter Final

Sumaq had committed a heinous act, driven by Lucifer, who whispered lies into his ear, distorting his perception of reality. He had murdered an entire family for being Christians who, in his eyes, were devoted to corruption. His mind, trapped in confusion, wavered between guilt and rage as he sought an isolated place where he could try to find clarity. He headed to the old lighthouse on the outskirts of town, a place forgotten by time and shrouded in the salty mist of the sea.

When he arrived, he saw Eliana. She had been searching for him, her face marked by worry. The light of the lighthouse illuminated her figure, creating a stark contrast with the darkness surrounding the scene. The wind blew fiercely, carrying with it a sense of desolation.

—"Sumaq, where have you been?" —Eliana asked, a mixture of fear and desperation in her voice, her words floating in the tense air.

—"I just need to be alone, Eliana," —he replied, his voice broken, trying to calm not only her but also the storm raging within his soul.

Eliana furrowed her brow, looking at Sumaq with distrust, her face pale under the lighthouse's glow.

—"I heard… that you did something horrible. Is it true that… you killed a family?" —she asked, her voice trembling, the echo of her words lingering in the cold air.

Sumaq took a step back, his mind caught in a labyrinth of conflicting emotions. He felt the ground crumble beneath him but tried to defend himself.

—"It's just a misunderstanding, Eliana. Things aren't what they seem," —he said sadly, as if trying to convince himself it was all a nightmare.

Seeing the anguish in his eyes, Eliana tried to approach, taking his hands gently, as if she could restore his sanity.

—"No, Sumaq, I need you to listen to me. You have to come back to us. Everyone needs you," —she implored, her eyes filled with concern, her voice strained with fear.

Sumaq closed his eyes, the storm inside him growing with every word from Eliana. The promise of power and freedom offered by the darkness tempted him, and for a moment, he wished Eliana would follow him down that path, despite the despair he felt.

—"It's not that simple. There's something bigger than us, something I can now control. We don't need divine rules, Eliana. Together, we could change everything," —Sumaq said, his voice trembling, speaking of an uncertain future full of tempting possibilities.

Eliana looked at him, completely bewildered and scared, as if her friend had vanished and only a stranger remained.

—"What are you saying, Sumaq? I don't know what you've become, but this isn't the way. I can't follow you down this path," —she said, fear reflected in her eyes, as the wind howled around them, as if nature itself tried to interrupt the conversation.

Sumaq felt the sting of her words, but the fury consuming him took over. The rage of having been deceived, of feeling betrayed by the world, overwhelmed him completely.

—"You don't understand! God was never the good one in this story! It's Lucifer!" —he shouted, his voice breaking under the weight of accumulated fury.

At that moment, a figure emerged from the shadows of the lighthouse. César, worried for his friend, had come seeking answers.

—"Sumaq? What's happening?" —César asked, his voice grave and serious, his silhouette outlined by the lighthouse's flickering light, a beacon of hope amid the darkness.

Sumaq looked at him with disdain, fury replacing any hint of logic in his mind.

—"Don't come near! Lucifer told me the truth! You Christians are liars!" —he yelled, his body tense like a rope about to snap.

César stopped, his gaze fixed on him with pain and despair.

—"That's not true, Sumaq. Lucifer is lying to you. You have to calm down, please," —he pleaded, his voice trembling as he cautiously tried to approach.

But Sumaq could no longer bear it. His pain, his rage, everything exploded in a moment of madness. He pushed Eliana violently; she fell to the ground, unconscious, while César tried to protect her.

—"You made her contradict me!" —he shouted, looking at César with eyes full of hatred, as if he were the cause of his suffering.

César, trembling, knelt beside Eliana, checking her pulse, struggling to remain calm in a sea of chaos.

—"It doesn't have to be this way, Sumaq," —César said, anguish etched on his face as he tried to find a solution.

But Sumaq, blinded by his own anger and Lucifer's influence, no longer listened. He shed any trace of humanity and, with a wild scream, lunged at César, drawing his sword with unrestrained fury.

The clash of swords rang out in the air, a metallic sound breaking the sepulchral silence. Each strike echoed the broken friendship between them, as if the weight of years of trust collided with the reality of betrayal.

—"It doesn't have to end like this, Sumaq," —César said, his voice choked with emotion, trying to reach the reason within his friend.

—"Lucifinism will be under my command, but you won't live to see it," —Sumaq replied, frenzy in his eyes, his mind completely overwhelmed.

The battle between them continued, each fighting not only against the other but also against their own inner demons. César tried once more to reason with him, but Sumaq, blinded by rage, rejected him.

The fight intensified. The two men clashed in the darkness, each strike a reflection of their broken hearts. Exhausted and out of strength, César made a final effort to save his friend. In an unexpected twist, he blocked a deadly strike from Sumaq and, with painful precision, ended his friend's life.

—"You were supposed to be an exemplary Christian, not a murderer. How could you believe Lucifer was right?" —César shouted, crying with sorrow and disappointment.

—"I hate you!" —Sumaq screamed in fury, clutching his stomach.

—"You are my brother, Sumaq… I loved you," —César replied.

With Sumaq's body lying on the ground, César gazed toward the horizon, his soul devastated by what he had been forced to do. The sense of loss enveloped him as the wind blew fiercely, as if the universe itself mourned the tragedy.

After the tragedy, César found Eliana, still alive but gravely injured. He rushed her to the hospital, but it was already too late. In her final moments, Eliana left César a small hope: their child, a newborn named Kutichay, a symbol of love and hope amid darkness.

—"César… there is still goodness in him… I know it," —Eliana whispered with her last strength.

César looked at the child and at the deceased Eliana in the bed. Then, he glanced one last time at his friend.

With the child in his arms, César headed toward Eliana's house, where Liz was waiting. The atmosphere around them was marked by sorrow and bewilderment, but upon seeing little Kutichay, Liz understood everything. Tears in her eyes, she embraced the boy, promising to care for him as her own son.

—"Don't worry, little one… we'll protect you from evil," —Liz whispered, hugging her nephew.

Meanwhile, Sumaq had been rescued by Lucifer, who transformed him into a demonic being, a creature condemned by his own hatred. He was no longer Sumaq but Ishnofel, the embodiment of eternal suffering. The air around him filled with dense darkness, an atmosphere of eternal torment enveloping his soul.

—"Ishnofel, you are awake," —Lucifer said, his voice cold as ice.

—"Yes, master," —Ishnofel replied, awakening.

Ishnofel, staring into the void, his eyes filled with hatred and pain, asked:

—"Where is Eliana?"

—"Apparently, Eliana perished because of your wrath," —Lucifer answered, with a venomous lie.

Ishnofel, incredulous, began to weep… but followed Lucifer into Satanism.
