The next day was harder than I could've ever imagined.

Grief had settled into every corner of our mansion, even though it was supposed to feel like home.

I stood in front of the large mirror in our bedroom, draped in a black dress that felt heavier than the world itself. My eyes were swollen, my lips pale, and my hands trembled.

Today was my mother's funeral. Today, I would say goodbye to the only person who truly loved me unconditionally.

Joonseo stood behind me silently, adjusting his tie. He looked sharp in a black suit, but even his strong frame and calming presence couldn't ease the storm in my heart.

He walked toward me and gently held my shoulders. "Minji," he whispered softly. "You're not alone."

I nodded, forcing back the tears. "Thank you… for helping with everything. For arranging the funeral… I couldn't have done this without you."

He pulled me into a hug. "It's what your mom would have wanted. And what you deserve."

Hours later, the funeral hall was crowded.
