"What are the Primary Combat Tryouts, sir?" Ivan asked Mr. Hashi.
"The Primary Combat Tryouts involve training with humanoid robots equipped with superpowers that will engage you in combat. This will help you learn ways to defend yourself and improve your skills. The class will be divided into two teams," Mr. Hashi explained.
All the students were excited and curious, though some were apprehensive about the Primary Combat Tryouts.
"Can we see the list, sir?" Loira asked.
"I'm sorry, but I will announce the list soon. Let's begin our first lesson for today," he replied, and the class listened attentively as he started the lesson.
After their second class, it was time for their lunch break. Hoka invited his friends to leave the classroom and head to the canteen.
"Let's take a break, guys," Hoka said, leading the way.
"Sure, let's go to the canteen," Ivan replied as they prepared to leave.
"Sorry, guys, I'm going with my best friends. Meet Loira Brightborn and Amy Farsight; we're from the same region," Yen explained, introducing her friends as they approached.
As Yen introduced her best friends, Amy and Connor made eye contact and waved at each other. Ivan and Hoka noticed Connor smiling and began to tease him.
"Do you know him?" Yen asked Amy, pointing at Connor.
"Yes, we just met earlier outside the academy," Amy explained.
"Yeah, they bumped into each other before they knew each other, and that's how we met him," Ivan added to Hoka, giving context about Connor.
"Oh, I see," Yen replied, glancing at Connor, who was scratching his head while looking shyly at Amy.
"Nice to meet you, Loira. I'm Hoka Harden from Northa, and this is Ivan Impactum from Weston, Yuto Inotah, and Connor Hanson from Eastan," Hoka introduced himself and his friends to Loira.
"Nice to meet you all," Loira said with a smile.
"I'm sorry, guys, but we have to go. See you later!" Yen said cheerfully as they were about to leave.
"Enjoy your break, girls," Ivan called out, waving goodbye.
After Yen and her friends left, the rest decided to leave the classroom as well. Connor noticed Sandra sitting alone, reading her book. She looked up at him curiously before returning to her reading.
"Let's go, Connor," Yuto said, inviting him to join the group as they headed to the canteen. While they left the classroom, Sandra watched Connor until they were out of sight. As they walked, Yuto asked Connor who he had been looking at earlier.
"Who were you looking at?" Yuto inquired.
"Her name is Sandra Darcy; she's my roommate," Connor replied.
"How do you know her?" Ivan asked.
"We met earlier in our dorm. I introduced myself and asked her name. She answered, but it seemed like she didn't want to talk. I was going to try to get to know her better, but then she suddenly left," Connor explained.
"Oh, that's sad to hear," Yuto comforted him.
"Don't worry; you'll be friends someday," Hoka encouraged.
"Okay, we're here," Ivan announced as they arrived at the canteen.
Yuto placed their lunch orders while the others searched for available tables and seats.
They found a table and sat down to wait for the food Yuto had ordered. While they waited, they began discussing the upcoming Primary Combat Tryouts.
"What do you think about our Primary Combat Tryouts coming up?" Ivan asked the group.
"I think it's going to be fun," Hoka replied with a laugh.
"I'm a little nervous, I guess, because I just learned about my power," Connor admitted.
"Don't worry; you'll learn to use your power too," Ivan reassured him.
"I hope so," Connor replied.
While they were having a conversation, an incident occurred: a student accidentally spilled food on another student. The student who spilled the food became angry and yelled at the other student, leading to an argument.
"Aren't you watching where you're going? Look at what you did, Xander," shouted Kazan, the student who had spilled the food.
"Maybe you're the one not paying attention; it's not my fault, Kazan," replied Xander, also agitated.
The two glared at each other, seemingly ready to fight. Just then, another student, Finley, accidentally slipped and spilled his food on both of them, intensifying their anger.
"Are you trying to mock us, Finley?" Kazan warned him.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to," Finley replied nervously.
Overwhelmed by anger, Kazan suddenly punched Finley with all his might. Finley bounced off the wall and hurried away. Just as Xander was preparing to unleash another attack, Sandra walked by to buy some snacks.
Xander's pressure punch was about to hit her, but Sandra quickly activated her dark power barrier to block it. She glared at both of them, furious. All the students in the canteen were stunned until Ivan noticed the commotion and recognized that a fight was breaking out.
"Guys, what's happening over there?" Ivan asked his friends as he watched the fight unfold.
"It looks like someone is in a brawl," Hoka observed. Just then, Yuto arrived, carrying their food, and noticed that Sandra was among those fighting.
"Connor, is that your roommate Sandra?" Yuto asked, seeking confirmation from Connor.
"Yeah, that's her. I have to help her," Connor replied as he stood up to assist her.
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to intervene right now, especially since you just discovered your powers," Ivan cautioned.
"Sorry, guys, but I need to help her, no matter what happens to me," Connor insisted.
"Connor, wait," Yuto said, trying to stop him, but he was determined to reach Sandra.
Meanwhile, the fight continued as Xander angrily unleashed his powerful pressure punches toward Sandra, but she countered with her dark powers to block them.
As Connor rushed to help Sandra, he unknowingly enhanced his own fists as he prepared, clenching them tightly. Just as Kazan was about to strike Sandra with an explosive punch, Connor quickly caught his fist. Kazan threw several punches at Connor, but he skillfully caught each one. Yuto and the others watched in stunned amazement, wondering how Connor managed to intercept Kazan's explosive attacks.
"How did he manage to catch all those explosive punches?" Yuto asked Ivan.
"I guess he didn't realize that he had enhanced his fists," Ivan replied curiously.
"I agree, but I think we need to help those guys," Hoka said, urging them to join him in assisting Connor and Sandra.
Meanwhile, Xander threw numerous pressure punches at Sandra, who managed to block them. She used her dark power to envelop his hands, momentarily stopping him. Then, she controlled him and threw him against the wall. Suddenly, Xander unleashed a pressure kick that struck Sandra, causing her dark power to dissipate.
Annoyed, Xander launched another barrage of pressure punches at her. However, Hoka intervened, using his hardening power to catch Xander's punches with a single hand and telling him to stop.
Kazan angrily threw a massive punch at Connor, who countered with an enhanced attack punch of his own, leading to a dramatic collision. The impact echoed through the canteen, causing all the students to step back in fear, aware that the fight was still escalating.
In the professor's office, two professors observed the chaos unfolding. They exchanged thoughts about how to handle the situation.
"Mr. Stanford, we need to stop them before it gets worse," Ms. Odessa warned.
"Wait, I see something happening," he replied as Connor and his friends tried to intervene without harming the two fighters. He felt uncertain about the unforeseen events that might unfold while he watched. Ms. Odessa understood his apprehension, knowing that he possessed the power of time, which allowed him to glimpse future events.
Xander asks his friend for help to fight Sandra while he confronts Hoka.
"Blake, take on that girl behind him while I deal with this arrogant fool," Xander commands Blake, directing his anger towards Hoka.
"You better stop this," Hoka warns him.
"I won't stop until I get my revenge on her," Xander replies furiously to Hoka.
"This is a bad idea, man," Hoka says, preparing his hardening power to block Xander's attacks. Suddenly, Ivan uses his gravitational power, pulling Xander down to the floor.
Blake charges at Sandra with his tattoo blade, attempting to strike her. However, she swiftly dodges and deflects his attacks, then retaliates by using dark energy that weakens him, wrapping him in its grip.
Meanwhile, Kazan throws a barrage of explosive punches at Connor. Connor manages to cover up to block the attacks, leaving Kazan astonished that he can counter all of his strikes with his enhanced defence fists.
Connor made an attempt to grab Kazan's hand, but Kazan swiftly pulled away and delivered a powerful punch to Connor's chest, causing damage to his uniform.
Confident in his abilities, Kazan believed he could easily defeat Connor, especially after causing him to stumble to his knee in front of him. He launched another massive explosive punch aimed at knocking Connor down. The surrounding students, along with Ivan, braced themselves, expecting Connor to fall from the explosive force of Kazan's attack. However, when the dust settled, they were astonished to see Connor catch the punch with one hand. Seizing the opportunity, he struck Kazan at a vital point on his neck, rendering him unconscious with a single blow.
Meanwhile, in the Professor's office, Ms. Odessa informed Mr. Stanford that the fight had concluded and invited him to the canteen. Just then, Ms. Evonne walked by, sensing that one of the students in the fight was under someone else's control, and she caught sight of him from a distance.
