I was in Delta-7 Aethersprite-class interceptor, maneuvering around a bunch Corona-class armed frigates who were firing at me. I was outnumber 5 to 1. As great as the Delta-7 was for Force sensitive pilots, this was still a little to much for me.
I was currently on a mission with Master Plo. We were investigating reports of pirates attacking cargo shipments in the Mid-rim. We found a small, but up and coming group of pirates. It's a good thing we found when we did or else things would have gotten worse in a few years.
My ship was getting banged up as I was being hit from all sides. I managed to reduce there numbers from 8 to 5 but compared to Anakin and Master Plo, I'm' a decent pilot.
Right as I felt my ship was about to be locked on, 4 out of the frigates were shot down. It was about time.
"Sorry to keep you waiting Cain, saving the prisoners and over throwing the main ship took longer then expected." Master Plo said.
"It's fine Master, what about the hostages on Takodana?
"Don't worry about them Cain." Anakin said.
"Me and Obi-wan freed them. We had to wait until, the Republic with more order members just entered the atmosphere before coming to your aid." Obi-wan said.
I smiled. "I'm just glad you all made it when you did, I hate playing decoy for the main attack forces."
"Then why did you volunteer ?" Plo Koon asked.
"It had to be done, and Master you were needed there. The least I could do is hold off the enemy, get some hands on experience piloting a starfighter."
"You Cain I could give you some pointers and help you with your piloting skills." Anakin said chuckling.
"Padawan Skywalker, I believe you are right, but for right now lets focus on getting the pirates out of the Mid Rim, before we talk about other things."
"Yes Master Koon"
Back at the Jedi temple on Coruscant. I was sparring with Mace Windu. He sent a quick flurry of strong and fast saber strikes. Targeting, different parts of my body. Left shoulder, right wrist, neck, sternum, and left leg. My task was simple block or parry each strike. Master Windu strikes were so powerful, it felt impossible to block one strike let alone several. Parrying him felt out of the question
Every time I got close to parrying his saber strikes, he would move faster then I could perceive. Then I'm stuck at square one. My shatterpoint strike has barely improved. I can activate it in desperate situations. But Master Windu says I should learn to change my state of mind and the world around me will reflect that. I knew what he meant but doing so was so different. How was I supposed to see this galaxy any different then a ticking time bomb half the time.
That's when Master Windu stopped the sparring session, deactivating his lightsaber. I was surprised, to the sudden stop.
"Is there a problem Master Windu?"
"Padawan Cain, when I look at you a see conflict in you. What is wrong ?"
I get it now, he probably see's me covered in Shater points since I have a lot of internal conflict. I guess I can see if he's been learning anything from me these past three years.
"Master I am trying to understand multiple things and I believe I am making no progress."
"Such as?" Mace Asked.
"First I'm trying to improve in my saber forms along with understanding shatterpoint. But I feel like I made next to know progress but I understand it is about the journey not the destination. It's just hard not worrying if I'm good enough. Then I'm trying to keep improving and doing my best but I feel like it's still not enough. I also can't seem to find out more about my heritage."
Mace just Nodded.
"I see, come let's get some fresh air Padawan Cain." We then made our way to the meditation gardens. Mace sat us down and then spoke.
"Padawan I understand the want to be more, but putting to much pressure on yourself will not help you or those around you. Start by learning when to ask for help. Then knowing what your limits are, and after you start there, everything else becomes easier. Then you will be one step closer to mastering yourself."
I nodded. "I understand what you mean Master."
"I know you do Padawan. Now when it comes to your family history..." Mace paused for a moment. "Why you seek to know your family history is your own right, as long as you don't let it consume you, but I believe Mandalore might be a good place to start. Which is also funny because the Duchess has requested meetings with the Jedi. I will see about you and your master being added to that mission. Then take a chance and seek your answers there."
I was surprised for sure to hear Mace be this helpful. I guess my influence over the years has affected him a little bit. The Duchess part was not surprising. Over the years my messages and info as Noctis, to the senators and political leaders of the galaxy was starting to pay off.
I'm planning on getting the order involved with the clone army by next year. The only reason I waited so long was so I could grow older and stronger. Adults don't tend to take children seriously, so by spending years building a fortune, and spy network, I don't need to reveal myself just yet.
"Thank you Master Windu, I will keep your words in mind when I do so." I bowed and then left Master Windu.
Three years had passed since I became a padawan and master Plo Koon, became my Jedi Master. A lot happened over the years. I spent time learning from Plo Koon, and man he is a great instructor. When not on mission's he would teach me much of his Baran Do Sages ways. From listening to the Force before making any big decisions. To training in multiple saber forms. Plo is a incredible duelist. I truly think after spending years with him that he could give Sidious a run for his money.
I'm hoping at some point to get him to teach me electric judgment. But I know that will be a huge ask considering how the Order see's it. They are cowards and hypocrites. Vaapad is allowed which uses the Darkside but Electric Judgment is frowned apron when it uses the users a sense of determined justice to power it. I been practicing in secret but all I can do is get just sparks, but nothing big.
When I'm with Master Fay, I'm mostly in the Void world filled with Force lights. She would tell about the living Force and the Cosmic Force. Which I was already taught by Yoda. But the lessons she taught in the void world, was back but the Force itself. She also did help teach me and Seris a way of using the force to deflect and redirect attacks. She demonstrated it by having me and Seris use our lightsabers on her. We were both nervous at the time. But even with are blades set to stun, we realized one thing she was the eye of the storm.
No matter what form we used or whether it was one or both of us and if we used Jar'Kai. We could never touch her. She just used the Force and deflected and redirected our strikes around her. She was like a fairy dancing in the wind. Anakin would join in from time to time but would give up after two hours. I didn't blame him. The days I spent training with Plo, Fay would always go by so quickly, but I felt like I learned so much.
That's why I would say Plo and Fay are my main masters, even though technically Plo is my official master.
My time with Mace was short but I got a more solid grasp on shatterpoint, just nothing useful outside of a life or death situation. Master Kuro would join in from time to time and put me against Derren, after my sessions with Mace. We both looked tired, but I didn't know what happened to Derren until he told me later on. Kuro would have Derren go to the lower levels with her wearing weighted clothes and go bounty hunting. He just couldn't use his light saber and sometimes he couldn't use the Force either.
Appearently he would be up against some big looking aliens and some had blades. But she forbad him from using them. At one point she had us sparring on a floating platform with moving objects and lasers aiming at us. She wouldn't let us go until one of us lost, and if she felt like we were fooling around she would make it harder. Master Kuro is a sassy old bitch, but I like her anyway.
Then there was my final master. Mother Talzin. I would go to my world of void and study the mystical side of the Force she uses. I haven't learned anything powerful, but I did pick up a few skills. Like magick, drawing from a planet's force energy. I'm not great with it but it helps amplify my abilities somewhat on different planets. The longer I stay on a planet the deeper my connection to it grows. In the future I will have to see how it on works on Force rich planets.
Right now Coruscant isn't the best place. Places like Dagobah, Ilum, Naboo, Ossus, and Tatooine, would be great places to try. Having a force nexus on it like Dagobah is a big plus. I wounder how it would work if I went to the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan? Lothal and is also a good spot with access for the world between worlds and possible access to the ones as well.
Besides that I managed to learn a form of healing thanks to Mother Talzin. It's not Force healing like the Jedi use. Cause I'm using the Force from the planet to help me instead of my own life force. Part of me wants to recreate Dark Transfer that Cade Skywalker from the comics could use and refine it to be more balanced.
So far that's it on what I learned over the past 3 years. I'm 13 now so hopefully when I go to mandalore I'm ready. I'm still worried about Count Dooku, and having to fight him at some point. But if I can take over the cloning program I can improve it and use it against Sidious and the Vong.
As I walked down the Hallway I saw Palpatine enter the temple accompanied by the temple guard. "Oh Padawan Cain, it is good to see you like always." Palpatine said.
Oh great this asshole. Seriously like every month this guy comes once or twice to see Anakin. Sometimes he invites me to their meetings. I warned Anakin about Palpatine in a way. basically saying never trust a politician, because they always have a angle.
It's just ironic that Palpatine has multiple, but Anakin did head my warning somewhat. Just not enough to say no every time.
"Chancellor Palpatine, it is good to see you again. Are you here to see Anakin?"
"No not this time, I am actually here to see you."
Wait what the hell?
"Me sir?" I said with a finger pointed at myself.
