Jessie thought that Kevin had a point, but she was genuinely scared just now.
"Sorry, Mr. Harper. Are you hurt?" she apologized sincerely.
He shook his head. "I'm fine. Luckily, I dodged quickly. If I were a little bit slower, I really might have gotten hurt by you."
Her last spade swing was no joke; it could've easily left a bruise.
Seeing that he wasn't angry, she grinned. "I really need to be more careful in the future—can't let Mr. Harper's handsome face get hurt."
As she was beginning to ramble again, Kevin looked slightly defeated. He looked at the vegetables already washed in the sink and nodded.
Jessie guessed as she followed his gaze, "Mr. Harper, did you especially come over to check if I'm cooking for myself?"
Kevin didn't deny it and just nodded.
"If you're still ordering takeout, I might just call the Waldorf Astoria Hotel staff."
This man was truly wasteful! But realizing that Kevin was only concerned about her, Jessie’s heart warmed up a bit.
