The mention of jealousy seemed to stir Kevin up, his expression darkening.
"I'm not jealous. How could I possibly be jealous because of that woman?"
Hearing this, Adam raised an eyebrow while a bit confused. He had only made a casual remark, yet Kevin’s demeanor seemed truly jealous.
Unable to resist teasing his friend, he continued, "No one implied anything like that—aren’t you overthinking our words too much?"
Kevin fell silent, repeatedly telling himself that he didn’t care at all. The marriage between him and Jessie was just a contractual one; he wasn’t concerned about who she dated, as long as she didn’t cheat on him.
With this in mind, he retorted, "I’m not; we're just nominally married. How could I care about her? It’s just that I don’t like my grandpa rushing me into marriage, but he really likes her."
Jessie was busy talking with Steve, even lying about going to Laura’s house just to have dinner with him. This alone was enough to infuriate Kevin.
