Naruto seized the moment and said,
"Sasuke, look at you. You're so obsessed with revenge, but you can't even control your power. If this goes on, you'll only destroy yourself."
Sasuke glared at Naruto and snapped,
"Shut up! This is just a temporary setback. I will succeed!"
At that moment, Obito patted Sasuke on the shoulder and said,
"There's no need to rush. You've only just fused those two pairs of eyes. Come on, it's time to claim our final power. Savoring the process is an important part of revenge."
Sasuke finally tore his gaze from Naruto and turned to Obito. After a moment of thought, he gave a small nod.
In the next instant, Obito activated Kamui and pulled Sasuke into the Kamui dimension.
Naruto's chakra surged with anger, his body glowing with a golden aura as he shouted,
"Obito! Where are you taking Sasuke?!"
Obito sneered, dismissively.
"That's not for you to know, Naruto. Sasuke has chosen his path—and you won't be able to stop him."
"Oh, and by the way... the Fifth Great Ninja War begins now. Next time we meet, it'll be on the battlefield. Farewell, Five Kage."
With that, Obito vanished into thin air.
Naruto stared at the empty space where they had disappeared, his fists clenched tightly. He roared,
"No matter where you go, I will bring Sasuke back. I'll help him find his true self again!"
The Five Kage all wore grim expressions. Just moments ago, they'd been trying to gauge Sasuke and Obito's strength. Now, they had a much clearer picture.
The chakra surging from Sasuke just before he left... if he had unleashed it, the consequences would've been unimaginable.
And that "final power" Obito mentioned—what exactly was it?
A chill ran down their spines.
...
High in the sky, Hyuga Gakuya had watched everything unfold. He nodded in approval—Obito's performance had been flawless, and he was finally doing his job with diligence.
Reviving Rin had indeed been the right move.
But now, it was time for him to take the stage.
Landing lightly on the ground, Gakuya's first words were: "So, how does it feel? Uchiha Sasuke, with two pairs of Mangekyō Sharingan fused into one... I daresay, give him a few more years, and he could become the next Uchiha Madara. Even now... he's not that far off, is he?"
At this moment, Gakuya was like an excited child, proudly showing off his creation to the others.
And who could blame him? Sasuke's path had been meticulously calculated over the years, every step part of Gakuya's layered, intricate plan to create the ultimate machine of vengeance.
Now that he finally had someone to brag to, of course he was going to bask in it.
The Five Kage's faces turned even darker. They finally remembered just who had created this walking disaster. In all of the Shinobi World, who else could it be but Hyuga Gakuya?
The ever-hotheaded Raikage was the first to explode: "Gakuya! You dare show off after creating such a monster?!"
But Gakuya just chuckled, completely unbothered.
"Raikage, no need to get so worked up. Without me, would you have understood the true extent of Sasuke and Obito's power?"
Ōnoki scowled. "None of this should've happened in the first place. Your so-called creation has brought catastrophe upon the world."
Gakuya crossed his arms.
"Catastrophe? Without the courage to burn our bridges, how will we ever reach true peace? And besides, I merely gave him power. The one that turned it into tragedy... is this world."
Gaara's tone was heavy. "That's enough. What matters now is how we deal with Obito, Sasuke, and the coming war."
"Mm, mm, agreed." Gakuya nodded repeatedly, then turned to Tsunade. "Hokage, find us a new place to continue the meeting. This one's pretty much totaled."
The conference hall in Konoha was in ruins. Once a place of grandeur and authority, now it was nothing but scorched rubble. The roof had been blown off, exposing charred beams and shattered pillars.
The surrounding buildings hadn't fared any better—collapsed homes, shattered shop signs, and goods strewn across the streets.
Tsunade frowned deeply. After scanning the destruction, she said, "Follow me."
...
They relocated to a relatively intact underground chamber.
Once everyone was seated, a heavy silence fell over the room.
Tsunade broke it. "The situation is dire. We must form the Allied Shinobi Forces immediately and face this crisis together."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Raikage rumbled, "The shinobi of the Land of Lightning will not back down. We'll fight with everything we've got."
Ōnoki added, "The Land of Earth will also send its elite forces."
Gaara said calmly, "The Land of Wind will stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of you."
The Mizukage gave a slight nod. "The Land of Water will do its part without hesitation."
Gakuya also voiced his support.
"The Shinobi Federation will never tolerate anything that threatens the safety of this world."
The others felt like they'd been struck with a heavy blow. You have the audacity to say that? Have you forgotten who was the biggest threat to world peace before your so-called reformation?
Tsunade held back her urge to throw shade—after all, right now, Gakuya was still "the boss." She continued,
"Since we're all in agreement, we need to quickly establish the Allied Forces' structure and chain of command. Each of you should return to your villages and select your best shinobi. Also make arrangements for logistics and support."
Ōnoki spoke up. "If we're to form an Allied Shinobi Force, then we must appoint a Supreme Commander. Otherwise, we'll end up fighting as separate factions, and any advantage we have will be wasted."
...
Tsunade nodded and took the cue.
"Let's talk about who should lead the Allied Shinobi Forces. Does anyone have someone in mind?"
A moment of silence followed. Choosing the Supreme Commander was a delicate matter—it meant massive power, especially during wartime.
Whoever took the position would essentially control the entire might of the ninja world.
The Raikage was first to speak.
"To be Supreme Commander, one must have both strength and leadership. I nominate myself."
He spoke with confidence and conviction. He needed this opportunity—if he wanted to rebuild his village, he would need help from other nations.
The great nations would never let him misuse joint funds, but with the title of Supreme Commander, he might be able to get aid from smaller countries.
Ōnoki saw right through his scheme. He didn't want Kumogakure to rebuild itself with support from minor nations. It was already bad enough that they were barely stronger than Sunagakure.
He shook his head. "Raikage, you're too impulsive. A commander needs to be calm and composed. I think Kazekage Gaara is a better choice."
The old schemer Ōnoki deliberately nominated the least likely candidate. Gaara was still young and had never led a war. There was no way he could command a global force.
Gaara narrowed his eyes slightly. He knew this was a trap. Still, he replied,
"You flatter me, Lord Tsuchikage. I lack the experience for such a responsibility."
Meanwhile, Gakuya—who had been watching with amusement—suddenly slammed his hand on the table and stood up, pretending to be furious.
"Are you all seriously still playing games?! The ninja world is on the brink of collapse, and you're bickering like kids! If we lose this war, the Five Great Nations will fall—all of them!"
