Zane's POV
His eyes burned with unyielding determination.
I swallowed hard as I listened to Alfie's words.
"Anyway, you can go now," he said, exhaling another cloud of smoke. "I'll come get you very early tomorrow morning. We can't go anywhere tonight since Father wants to meet you but then again, I might stop that meeting altogether, depending on my mood."
He puffed out another stream of smoke as he finished speaking.
What the hell is with him and cigarettes? If it were anyone else, I'd have told them to quit on the spot. Smoking destroys the lungs and shortens lives...everyone knows that. But Alfie? No, no. For him, I'd almost say, more smoke to the throat.
