Janet's hands were joined in a tight squeeze as Gina's words tore through her defenses. Janet knew that there was some truth in Gina's words. Janet had already suspected that her relationship was just something of convenience. Janet had gone to him because she missed her father, and he had been with her because she was available. That wasn't a relationship that was ever going to last. But Janet had refused to listen to that part of her heart that warned her about what she was doing. She was just so stupid!
Tears fell from Janet's eyes as she slowly began to realize how much pain she had caused her own family all this time, and Gina put her hand on Janet's back and rubbed it softly as Janet spoke up.
