Chapter 153 - One Strike...

One by one, she'd strip Emerald of every protector until she was left bare and alone. 

Then, she would strike.

Her lips curved as she poured him more wine. "Drink. You'll need the fire in your veins."

He obeyed without hesitation. One cup, then another, until his movements grew sluggish. Soon, he slumped against the furs in the corner of the tent, his breath deepening with sleep.

Alia watched him for a long moment, her eyes glinting. Then she turned to the table, where his phone laid. A message notification pulsed faintly.

Her gaze sharpened. Emerald.

She slid the phone closer, reading the words. A smile spread across her face slowly.

Perfect.

Later, in a smaller tent tucked behind the main camp, Rhiannon sat idly twisting strands of her hair. Her face was pale, but her eyes glittered with restless energy.

Alia slipped inside.

"You're awake," Rhiannon said, smirking faintly. "What's wrong? Didn't Rick tire you out?"
