Chapter 26 - Chapter Twenty Six- Plans

"You can't leave. It's too late. You need to sleep over here," Bridget said as she got up too, "it's been five years when I last saw you Lexis. I really want to spend some time with you."

"An enemy of my wife is an enemy of mine too," he glanced at Emily and Freya who straightened their spines immediately at his chilly eyes, "I can't stay in where my wife isn't welcomed. Whenever you are ready to take her as a family, you can call me."

"Lexis, please." Bridget pleaded the more.

Sabrina breathed out silently and pinched him softly on the wrist, which caused him to face her, but she didn't look at him.

The message was clear.

She was silently pleading wit him not to cause anymore problem.

Bridget noticed the small interaction between the two, and her impression of Sabrina only got better.

"Okay, only for a night." Lexis finally agreed.

Bridget clapped, "Very good! I'll get the maids to show you to your room," she went on calling the maids, "Tina! Rebecca! Come on, take Lexis and his wife to the guest room."

Two maids came and humbly showed the way to the room, and Lexis pulled Sabrina along.

.

Sabrina sat on the bed and pulled her heels, before she started massaging her sore feet. She had beeen wearing the heels for so long.

Suprisingly, Lexis crouched down and started massaging her feet himself.

She was flustered, "You don't have to." She tried withdrawing her feet, but he tightened his hold.

"It's normal for me to massage your feet. You are my wife. Don't forget."

Sabrina didn't refuse anymore, and she watched as he continued with comforting act of his.

After some moments of silence, he apologised, "Sorry."

Sabrina waved it off, "Don't be. It's nothing."

"It's something," Lexis paused what he was doing, "I could feel your discomfort."

"It doesn't matter."

"It does matter, Sabrina. You are my wife. My mom and Freya should have that at the back of their heads."

"Your mom is a nice person," Sabrina pulled her foot out of Lexis' hold, "a very nice woman just happens to be sharp-tongued and sassy. She's strict, yet friendly."

Lexis stared at her, "You know her that well?."

She shook her head, "Nope. But the day I helped her showed me she's just a sassy woman who is hard to please and needs one that is capacity of matching up with her temper or able to handle her."

Sabrina sighed, " She was complaining bitterly that day about her son marrying a 'gold-digger'. You know, it just never came to me that she could be your mother."

Lexis rolled his eyes, "She's still supposed to be grateful that you saved her."

"She's grateful." Sabrina muttered, "but she's angry. It's normal that she would be. If I were in her shoes, I'd have reacted the same way."

He smiled at his wife's thoughtfulness. He got up and patted her hair, "You are making me to fall deeper in love with you."

Sabrina giggled. But she was quite disturbed. She wanted to ask him about Emily, but couldn't muster any confidence or courage.

She was bothered.

.

.

.

.

"What was Lexis thinking when he married her?." Freya asked no one in particular as she paced around her room.

Emily pursed her lips, "She's pretty, and she has a good composure too."

No doubt, sooner or later Bridget would crept Sabrina because of her well deserved composure and tolerance. Bridget might look like one who was hard to please, but she flowed with people with tolerance.

And that was what made Bridget to consider her—Emily as the wife of Lexis.

But Sabrina had spoiled the whole thing.

"Emily, we just have to let mom hate her until she gets out of here." Freya said.

"How can we do that when she's the Samaritan that helped her?," Emily glanced at her, "let's forget about the fact that she married Lexis secretly, without the permission of Aunt's, with her character and beauty, I'm sure auntie Bridget would take her in as soon as possible."

"How can mom let a lowly girl be with big brother for life? It doesn't make any sense."

"Aunt Bridget don't choose women based on status," Emily pointed out, "If it's that field, she'd infact, prefer a middle class girl for Lexis."

Freya jumped on the bed to join Emily, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Let's just say mom already loves her, but it's possible for us to make her reverse her feelings, am I right?."

Emily grew interested as she scooted closer to her, "How?."

Freya clapped her hands silently, "It goes like this, we just have to make her keep crossing paths with her ex—Jason Kennedy if I'm not mistaken, and snap them together. Then we can have the pics delivered to mom or Lexis, brainwashing them into believing that Sabrina is cheating on Lexis."

Emily smiled at her suggestion, "That will work."

"Ofcourse." Freya smiled.

Emily crossed her arms. Although the plan was good, she still had a backup.

She needed to follow Sabrina up in a docile, pitiful manner, manipulating her into leaving Lexis.

Sabrina seemed thoughtful and smart,Emily thought. She would brainwash her into believing that she was Lexis' fiancée, who was abandoned when the news of him being married spread around.

Her face crept into a sinister smile at her plan.

.

.

Sabrina tossed from side to side on the bed, but still couldn't sleep. All she could hear and listen to was Lexis' steady, heartbeats.

She stared at his peaceful face. The moonlight that reflected on his face made him look so innocent, peaceful and beautiful.

She pushed some strands of his thick, black hair to get a better view of his sleeping face.

When was the last time she had seen him sleep like this?

Although they had been married for weeks, Sabrina couldn't count up to four times she had seen him sleep.

It was either he joined her in bed late when she'd be asleep, or he'd just stay up all night in his study room or at the company.
