Chapter 24 - Chapter 24:

Chapter 24

After thoroughly reading the cultivation method for the external incarnation, Naoki Asakawa felt both excitement and frustration.

What thrilled him was the sheer potential of the technique. According to the records, when creating an external incarnation, not only could one use their own body tissue, but it was also possible to incorporate the tissues of others — and with that, a chance for the avatar to inherit the talents and bloodline abilities of those sources.

The moment he saw that, Naoki immediately thought of Himiko, the rogue ninja from Konoha who'd created the Demon Gerala Technique.

Himiko's technique had one goal: to plunder the kekkei genkai of others to strengthen herself. But her method was clumsy and reckless, forcefully devouring others' bloodlines without finesse.

Naoki's external incarnation technique, however, was essentially a perfected, supreme evolution of that crude concept. Rather than forcibly snatching bloodlines, this method would fuse them together at a cellular level, cultivating them into a soulless body — and, in doing so, producing a true fusion bloodline. One far superior to any acquired by force.

Unlike the makeshift powers granted by Himiko's technique, the bloodline limit granted through an external incarnation was as natural and stable as if it had been born from it.

The idea alone made Naoki's blood run hot. He was already planning the bloodline limits he wanted to combine.

First on the list were the Sharingan of the Uchiha clan and the powerful chakra of the Senju. The most ideal would be the cells of Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama. Though Madara might be impossible to find, Uchiha Mikoto's cells would be a viable alternative. Hashirama's cells were a tougher problem — as of now, neither Orochimaru nor Danzo had begun their experiments with them.

Beyond that, Naoki intended to obtain some of Uzumaki Kushina's cells to fuse the Uzumaki clan's resilient life force, and maybe even get some Hyuga blood to add the Byakugan to the mix.

All of these existed within Konoha.

And if he could ever get his hands on it, Naoki wanted the power of the Kaguya clan's Shikotsumyaku, suspected to be a remnant of Kaguya Otsutsuki herself.

"It seems like my avatar's going to walk the ninja's road I can't tread," Naoki chuckled.

It was a small way to ease the regret he'd felt ever since transmigrating here. The road of immortal cultivation was impressive, but he sometimes envied the world of shinobi and its unique power system.

The potential of this external incarnation was enough to keep his spirits high — though for now, there was a limitation.

He couldn't control the avatar until his spiritual consciousness formed. That meant breaking through to the next realm of cultivation — refining his qi into spirit.

Naoki wasn't exactly anxious, but it did gnaw at him to have such a valuable technique within reach and yet unusable.

"I'm still too weak," Naoki sighed to himself.

"But it's only been a year. I haven't even finished elementary school yet — what's the rush?"

And besides, even without spiritual consciousness, he could still cultivate the external incarnation within his dantian. By the time he advanced to Qi Refining Spirit Transformation, it would already be developed.

"Alright — let's begin."

Naoki sat cross-legged, his body radiating heat under the tempering effects of his Basic Qi Refining Technique and Samadhi True Fire. The food essence he'd absorbed converted swiftly into mana and nourishing vitality, one part strengthening his cultivation base, the other enriching every cell in his body.

While Naoki cultivated, the Uchiha clan territory had fallen into a tense, temporary calm.

Following Uchiha Shunsuke's betrayal, the faction loyal to the second and third elders was swiftly dismantled by the clan leader and Great Elder, who led the moderates.

Of course, they wouldn't simply slaughter their own clansmen. Most of the hawkish Uchiha were detained. Only the extreme diehards faced indefinite imprisonment. The others would remain confined for a time, and if their attitude softened after persuasion, they might be released.

As for the two elders themselves and their core supporters — though not executed outright — their futures were sealed. No one expected them to see freedom again.

For now, the Uchiha clan's internal crisis was quelled. But it was a fragile peace.

Moderates now controlled the clan. While Senju Tobirama's disdain for Uchiha was well-known, his power kept tensions in check. Even if he lost his position as Hokage, most of the Uchiha still desired peace.

But the danger hadn't vanished. If future Hokage administrations lacked strength and wisdom, the hawkish faction could rise again, eventually dominating the clan — just as it had in the history Naoki knew.

A Konoha that feared Uchiha but couldn't suppress them would inevitably drive the clan toward rebellion.

But for now, those days hadn't come.

In a quiet, old-fashioned house within the Uchiha compound, a white-haired elder in his sixties sat across from a young girl with black hair — barely ten years old.

"I've heard about what happened today," the old man said quietly.

"The boy named Asakawa Naoki… he's your classmate at the academy, yes? Bring him here tomorrow. I owe him a thank-you."

"Alright, Grandpa," Uchiha Mikoto nodded.

A silence hung for a moment before the elder sighed heavily.

"I'm sorry, Mikoto… this was my failing."

This was Uchiha Katsumi, the clan's Great Elder. Once a renowned shinobi in his prime, Katsumi had served both clan and village loyally for decades.

His later years, however, were marked by sorrow. His wife died young. His son and daughter-in-law perished during a mission, leaving only his granddaughter, Mikoto.

He had longed to leave the affairs of the clan behind and spend his remaining years by her side. But as Great Elder, it fell to him to counterbalance the ambitions of the second and third elders, lest they drag the clan into ruin.

And so Mikoto had grown up without close family warmth. She was calm, detached — rarely angry, even more rarely happy. She had no desires and no ambitions.

Now, at least, that had changed.

"Don't worry. The evidence against the second and third elders is conclusive. With them imprisoned, I intend to resign as Great Elder. I'll stay by your side from now on."

He thought Mikoto would be pleased, or at least give a faint smile.

But her next words left him speechless.

"No, Grandpa. I've decided on my own path."

Uchiha Mikoto smiled — a faint, resolute smile Katsumi hadn't seen in years.

"I want to become Hokage."

The words hung in the air.

She recalled Naoki's declaration earlier that day — "I'm a man who will become Hokage!" — and felt her face flush slightly at the memory.

For a moment, Katsumi was too stunned to speak. His granddaughter had always been so indifferent to the world. And now… she spoke of pursuing the Hokage's mantle.

He smiled.

"Well, well. My Mikoto has a dream, too."

He didn't truly believe she would achieve it. In a village with tens of thousands of shinobi, only one could be Hokage. The odds were impossible.

But it was good to have a dream. Even a distant, unreachable one was better than none at all.

"It won't be easy… but I'll support you."

"Grandpa, I'm serious," Mikoto said quietly.

She met his gaze — and her pupils, in that instant, turned blood-red. Two tomoe rotated gently within them.

A double tomoe Sharingan.

Among adult Uchiha, a two-tomoe Sharingan was fairly common. But for a ten-year-old child, it was an astonishing feat.

Even in the clan's long history, few had achieved it at such a young age.

Katsumi's expression turned solemn.

"Does anyone else know?" he asked.

"No. Only the clansman who came to capture me saw it."

At Naoki's urging, Mikoto had deactivated her Sharingan before Hiruzen arrived.

Only Naoki and Uchiha Setsuna knew.

"Good. Until you grow stronger, don't use it unless your life depends on it."

"I understand."

"You've been through enough for one day," Katsumi sighed, softening. "If you don't feel up to the academy tomorrow, I can have someone request leave for you."

"It's fine, Grandpa. I'll go," Mikoto replied.

"Alright then. Rest well."

As Katsumi left the room, a Uchiha shinobi waiting outside stepped forward.

"Great Elder."

"I have a task for you," Katsumi said.

Later, in the Uchiha clan's dungeon, Uchiha Setsuna — still unconscious from the earlier conflict and interrogation — was administered a certain drug.

He would never wake up again.
