Chapter 164 - MSOC: Chapter 164

"Uchiha Kai, you're truly formidable,"

Uchiha Elder said, his voice grim, his eyes bloodshot.

"If you'd cooperated and become Hokage, it would have been for the clan's honor. Why resist?"

Every Uchiha was instilled with the belief that they should become the clan's strongest member and claim the Hokage position, a goal even Madara Uchiha had sought.

It was the ultimate honor. The previous Kai, though unremarkable, had carried this burden. But this Kai was different.

"Sorry, I'm not interested in your schemes or clan duty," Kai said flatly, glancing at Shisui and Fugaku. "I'm not some saintly Mary Sue!"

Though he didn't explicitly state it, Fugaku and Shisui felt a blush creep onto their faces. They'd almost jeopardized Shisui's Sharingan trying to save Elder.

Their good intentions had backfired spectacularly. Now, they needed to manage the fallout.

"Kai, don't be reckless," Jiraiya said, appearing beside Kai.

He was still shaken by the chain of events, especially the Seven-Colored Phantom Dragon, which even he wouldn't have easily withstood.

The collaboration between Konoha's two leading genjutsu clans was chilling.

All eyes fell upon Kai. The memory of his ruthless efficiency sent a wave of unease through the crowd.

"If you'll excuse me, I'll rest. I'm not interested in that Hokage position. I dislike trouble, but I'm not afraid of it," Kai said, turning to leave.

Silence fell. He'd just unleashed carnage and now walked away without a second glance—completely unpredictable.

"Stop!" Yamanaka Fū appeared before the Third Hokage, his voice filled with indignation. "Hokage-sama, you must avenge Danzo-sama!

He served Konoha selflessly, protecting its interests. Kai murdered a loyal servant of Konoha. To let him leave unpunished is unjust!"

His righteous words resonated with the Konoha ninjas, especially considering the Uchiha and Kurama clans' secret collaboration, the forced Hokage election, and the long-standing resentment towards the Uchiha.

The mood shifted dramatically. Danzo's hidden operatives in the crowd stirred.

"Hokage-sama, Yamanaka Fū is right. Danzo-sama dedicated his life to Konoha. His death was unjust, and letting the culprit escape is unacceptable."

"Hokage-sama, Danzo-sama was a Konoha advisor. Even if he lacked merit, he had dedication. Kai killed him without provocation—a grave crime."

"Hokage-sama…"

The hall erupted in a cacophony of accusations. Many weren't just condemning Kai but expressing their fear of his unknown power.

Having such an unpredictable individual in Konoha was like having a ticking time bomb.

"Sarutobi, Yamanaka Fū is right. This is serious," Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane arrived, their faces grim as they looked at Danzo's corpse, blood staining his chest, his eyes wide open.

As fellow Konoha advisors, they felt a sense of shared loss and vulnerability in the face of Kai's power.

Seeing the elders' reaction, Jiraiya tensed, about to speak, but Kai stopped him.

"Heh, Yamanaka Fū, if Danzo knew you were doing this for him, he'd be furious," Kai chuckled, looking at Danzo's body.

"I didn't want to expose you, but your loyal underling gave you away."

"Danzo, was Izanagi useful?"

With those cryptic words, Kai's hand moved like lightning, throwing a lightning-charged kunai at the corpse.

Bang!

White smoke billowed, shocking everyone. Danzo, seemingly lifeless, dissipated into smoke and wood—a substitution technique!

Those who'd spoken out were stunned, feeling foolish and embarrassed.

"I… it's impossible. I sensed Danzo-sama's death. How could I be wrong?" Yamanaka Fū stammered, his face pale.

The Yamanaka clan were Konoha's strongest sensors, crucial during battles, highlighting the reliability of his claim.

Overwhelmed by the need to prove himself right, Yamanaka Fū activated his sensory jutsu to its fullest extent, focusing on a particular section of the crowd.

Kai shook his head. "Danzo, your underling is an idiot. Not only did he defend you, he revealed your location. You're in deep trouble now."

Yamanaka Fū was dumbfounded, staring at the furious figure who could kill him a thousand times with a single glare.

His concern had clouded his judgment. As Kai said, if Danzo were still alive, he'd be hiding something. Yamanaka Fū's actions were like revealing Danzo's secret.

"That's Danzo's chakra signature!" Jiraiya exclaimed, having also activated his sensory jutsu. Danzo, supposedly dead, was alive and hiding—a clear sign of guilt.

If Kai was right, and Izanagi was an Uchiha forbidden technique, how had Danzo, a non-Uchiha, used it? This was intriguing.

"Danzo-sama… I didn't mean to…" Yamanaka Fū rushed towards Danzo.

A slap landed on his face.

Bang!

The force sent Yamanaka Fū flying. Danzo, his mask still on, trembled with rage, finally spitting out a vulgarity.

"Damn you!"
