Boom!
The wave, a colossal torrent of water, crashed down with devastating force. Rōshi, caught completely off guard at such close range, had no time to react and was slammed by the wave.
The immense wave, seemingly endless, filled the half-kilometer radius enclosed by the barrier.
This was only the beginning; Kai's saturated attack left Rōshi no room to escape. Trapped in the water, he struggled.
The Iwagakure ninjas guarding the barrier's perimeter watched in horror as the barrier, unable to withstand the relentless waves, began to crack.
Boom!
A deafening explosion echoed as the barrier shattered, unleashing a deluge of water that spread outward like a tidal wave, overwhelming trees, rocks, and mountains alike.
In moments, a ten-kilometer radius was submerged. It looked like an ocean.
Kakuzu and the others, perched on Deidara's clay birds, looked down at the watery expanse, their faces grim.
They saw Kai, a solitary figure, calmly suspended in the air within his Susano'o. The sight was terrifying.
To alter the landscape with jutsu alone required not only immense skill but also colossal chakra reserves.
Only the strongest Kage-level ninjas, or perhaps those surpassing Kage-level, could achieve this – those considered demigods.
In the entire shinobi world, only the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju, and Madara Uchiha had demonstrated such power.
Roar!
From within the churning water, Rōshi, the Four-Tails jinchuriki, let out a furious roar. He stabilized himself, glared at Kai, and slammed his hands together.
His tailed beast cloak seemed to ignite.
Roar!
Another roar echoed, and immense chakra erupted like a volcano, the heat threatening to boil the water.
Roar!
With another roar, Rōshi fully transformed into the Four-Tails.
"Boss, that's the Four-Tails, the so-called Great Sage Equalling Heaven Son Gokū," the Three-Tails suddenly popped out of Kai's backpack, peering down.
"I've used up a lot of chakra. This one's yours, Boss."
Roar!
The Four-Tails, its eyes filled with rage, focused on the Three-Tails.
"Turtle, you call a human your boss? You've disgraced us tailed beasts!" the Four-Tails said, its voice booming. "Join me, and we'll kill these humans!"
"Pfft!" the Three-Tails scoffed. "Don't try to sow discord between me and the Boss, or I'll be mad!"
"I advise you to surrender. Follow the Boss, eat well, live well—it's a great deal! Otherwise, the Boss will make you regret it."
The Three-Tails then adopted a fawning expression. "Boss, do you think I did a good job? Lunch tomorrow, please?"
Kai rolled his eyes at the Three-Tails, who had completely abandoned any sense of dignity for food.
"Damn turtle, you've disgraced us tailed beasts! I'll show you what tailed beast rage is—mountain-shattering, sea-destroying power!" the Four-Tails roared, furious.
The Four-Tails resented the Three-Tails' subservience. They were weapons of war, feared throughout history, not fawning pets.
Rōshi, having stabilized himself in the water, looked up, his eyes widening at the dark clouds gathering overhead.
The lightning, writhing like dragons, made his fur stand on end. The water suppressed his Lava Release, and the chakra-infused water hindered his movements.
The impending lightning strike could be catastrophic. The earlier banter had been a stalling tactic.
"Cunning human, you can't capture me! I'll use Lava Release and escape!" the Four-Tails roared, charging towards the ground.
But a voice stopped him.
"Can you escape faster than light?" Kai asked, a playful smile on his face.
He raised his hand, drawing down the lightning. A massive vortex of lightning formed in the clouds. Without hesitation, Kai slammed his hand down.
"Lightning Release: Kirin!"
Roar!
A deafening roar split the sky as a colossal Kirin, formed from the gathered lightning, descended. The speed was a fraction of a second, faster than the eye could follow.
The Four-Tails' eyes widened in terror as the enhanced Kirin, amplified by the Mangekyo Sharingan, struck.
Boom!
Endless lightning engulfed the Four-Tails. Lightning crackled through the water, like dragons thrashing in the sea. The scene resembled an apocalyptic thunderstorm.
After half a minute, the lightning dissipated. The massive wave was gone. A huge crater, half a kilometer in diameter, marked the spot where the forest once stood.
The Four-Tails lay motionless, scorched.
The contrast between its earlier arrogance and its current state was stark.
"That's the Boss's power? Ten of me wouldn't be enough," Kisame said, his face pale.
The Great Waterfall Wave had already overwhelmed him; the Kirin would have instantly killed him.
"Kisame, you should be grateful you didn't challenge the Boss. It would have been a painful lesson," Zabuza said coldly, secretly relieved he'd surrendered.
Otherwise, he'd be in the same state as the Four-Tails.
