"Those choices? A bit too… forceful,"

The Kumogakure shinobi were speechless.

Every village prepared meticulously for a tailed beast rampage.

No one had ever handled the situation with such nonchalance.

"Dodai-sama, what do we do now?" Two elderly Kumogakure shinobi approached Dodai, their voices laced with anxiety. "If the Konoha Asura and the Two-Tails fight here, Kumogakure will suffer."

"Should we issue evacuation orders?"

This was Kumogakure. Allowing Uchiha Kai to run rampant was unacceptable. A battle here wouldn't be a small skirmish; it could destroy the entire village.

"No need. Observe his fighting style. We might encounter him on the battlefield again. This fight will end quickly," Dodai said, his expression serious.

A short time ago, this grim expression and tone had been shared by others. Now, it was different. Witnessing Kinkaku and Ginkaku's defeat had profoundly changed Dodai's perspective.

His unexpected words created tension.

While uneasy, a strange anticipation filled the shinobi's eyes. One was the legendary Blood-Colored Asura, the other, Matatabi, the second strongest tailed beast. This battle held significant value.

A heavy silence descended upon the ruins. Matatabi, having broken free, its blue chakra swirling, its blood-red eyes fixed on Kai. Its words sent a jolt through everyone.

"I'll go with you."

Those seven words hung in the air. Dodai, who had just predicted a swift end to the battle, was stunned. The tailed beast was surrendering before everyone. Few would believe it if they hadn't witnessed it.

"Seriously surrendering?" Son Gokū emerged from Kai's cloak, urging, "Stinky cat, don't surrender! Let the Boss beat you up first! It's only fair!"

"Look at the Boss's build; you might actually have a chance to flatten him with one paw."

"No way. Boss, let's go," Matatabi, acting unlike its usual self, glared before transforming into a sky-blue cat the size of a house cat.

In a few bounds, it landed on Kai's shoulder, nuzzling his neck. It was completely different from its previous ferocious self.

"Alright, stop arguing. It's getting late; we should leave," Kai said, glancing at Yugito Nii, who looked reluctant to part.

"All good things must end. Listen to Big Sis and train hard. Being a jinchuriki isn't easy, but you don't have to be one anymore," Kai said, ruffling Yugito's hair.

He shook his head at her lingering gaze and turned to Kimimaro.

"Let's go."

With that, Kai turned and left. Kimimaro followed without hesitation, disappearing quickly. Samui, watching Yugito's reluctant farewell, murmured,

"Who's Big Sis…? Next time we meet, it'll likely be on the battlefield."

Time ticked by. Two elderly figures, guarded by eight Anbu, quickly arrived at the ruins. Seeing the devastation, their faces hardened, especially the destroyed Matatabi altar. They felt a sense of foreboding.

"Dodai, where is Matatabi? Anbu reported the Blood-Colored Asura was here. Did you stop him?" one elder demanded. "Uchiha Kai's infiltration and Matatabi's rampage—you're responsible for both failures!"

"Stop him?"

The shinobi froze. Dodai said grimly, "Elder, you want us to stop Uchiha Kai? He easily killed Kinkaku and Ginkaku, and even Matatabi surrendered to him."

Dodai's face hardened. "How were we supposed to stop him? Were we supposed to build a wall of bodies to stop him? Doing so would destroy Kumogakure. Matatabi's loss and Kai's departure are the best possible outcomes."

A tailed beast might strengthen a village, but what good is it if the village is gone?

While Dodai's words were impulsive, they resonated with many. The question of how to stop Kai struck a chord.

Seeing the impassive shinobi, the elders' faces darkened. Their faces twitched. "Good. Excellent. Dodai, you've also rebelled! You failed to protect Matatabi and dared to defy the elders' orders! How will you explain this to the Fourth Raikage?"

Kinkaku and Ginkaku's rebellion, the loss of the tailed beast, and Uchiha Kai's rampage—all were capital offenses for Dodai. The elders continued, "The plague is gone, but who will take the blame?"

"Hmph, don't worry, I'll personally report this to the Fourth Raikage at the Five Kage Summit in the Land of Iron," Dodai said coldly.

"And the village's defense is now your responsibility, elders. Pray Uchiha Kai doesn't hear you and return to unleash the three tailed beasts."

The elders, who only appeared when things were calm, were disliked by Dodai and the other shinobi.
