Boo hovered midair, watching Principal Dante and Teacher Alina talk at the front of the class. His little ghostly mouth dropped open in disbelief. Again? He thought, his silver glow flickering impatiently. How long could two tall people talk about boring adult stuff?
He had been waiting since the lunch break bell rang; his gossip was hot, dramatic, and life-changing. But no, the principal had decided that now was the perfect time to discuss "kindergarten performance analysis." Boo blinked, unimpressed. Performance analysis? Boo performs every day, and no one claps.
Dante continued speaking, his voice calm and low as he leaned closer to Alina, pointing at a report. Boo floated higher, trying to peek, but saw only papers. Ugh. Numbers. Ew. His little ghost face scrunched up like a sulking marshmallow.
Then Dante looked at him, expression unreadable. "Why are you still here? Go have lunch."
