Alessandra pulled Edgar closer to her. Each passing moment she spent with him like this made her feel young again. She was pulled back to that fortunate night when she was so lucky to get a glimpse of Edgar as he exited her father's home to enjoy his cigar. 

'The coat is a little thin for such weather, isn't it?'

The first words Edgar spoke to her still echoed in her mind. It was the start of a wonderful marriage, and though many years had passed, Edgar continued to love her. He loved her even with her flaws, and she loved him for it. 

Alessandra loved that Edgar was never afraid to show her all the sides to him. He wasn't afraid to show his vulnerable side. 

"I love you," Alessandra said, loud enough for Edgar to hear.

"I love you," the response came without missing a beat. 

Edgar didn't have to think about it. He loved the woman lying beneath him, and he had spent many days during their marriage letting her know this.
