"Is it that my eyes are deceiving me, or is Kate trying to stop us?" Alessandra asked, rubbing her eyes since she was yet to believe what she noticed.
Edgar leaned forward to see the carriage getting dangerously close. He frowned when he noticed that it was, in fact, Kate and her husband trying to convince them to stop.
"Ignore them," Edgar said.
"It is rather odd that she is trying to stop us. Could it be about her son?" Alessandra wondered.
Alessandra leaned back in her seat. Perhaps it wasn't best to speak to Kate now.
"Alessandra!"
The sound of her name coming from Kate's mouth made Alessandra flinch. It was something she was not used to hearing anymore.
Alessandra inched closer to where Edgar sat when Kate's carriage kept getting closer. Alessandra wished to know what was going on inside Kate's head for her to do this.
Maybe it was Kate being desperate to find news about her son. Or maybe she wished to hash out the past.
