Chapter 60 - Chapter 61.

The air was quiet for a split second.Nyx narrowed his eyes and finally turned his head to Ellis, "... So?"

Instead of answering, Ellis slowly walked forward and stood at Nyx's side, overlooking the college in the night. After a long moment, he spoke, "What do you want to do?"

Nyx froze, "What?"

"You always avoid my questions."Ellis turned his head to look at him, his tone calm, "But I want to know, what do you want?"

Nyx looked at him and suddenly smiled.

His smile held a hint of nastiness and a bit of something unspeakable, "Are you sure you want to ask that?"

Ellis' expression didn't change, "I'm sure."

Nyx cocked his head slightly, his red eyes glowing in the moonlight as he whispered, "I want you."

The air fell silent.

Ellis' demeanor remained stoic, but a hint of an obscure emotion surfaced under his eyes.

As if he found the atmosphere amusing, Nyx moved a little closer to Ellis and his smile deepened, "What?Scared?"

Ellis didn't back off, he just looked at Nyx faintly and whispered, "You're kidding."

Nyx shrugged, "Maybe."

He stood up and patted the hem of his coat, smiling casually, "You wouldn't take it seriously anyway."

Ellis didn't say anything.

Nyx didn't seem to expect an answer from him either, he yawned and stretched his wings, "Well, it's getting late, I should get back to bed."He turned around and was about to leave.

But just as he took a step, Ellis suddenly spoke, "Nyx."

Nyx stopped and turned around, "Huh?"

Ellis' eyes were deep, looking at him as if he was thinking about something. After a moment, he said softly, "Stop running away."

Nyx was slightly stunned.

Ellis withdrew his sight and took the lead, turning to leave, his black robes fluttering slightly in the night breeze, his figure calm and steady as usual.

Nyx stood in place, looking at his back, and after a long time, he let out a low laugh.

He reached out his hand and gently pressed it against his heart, where it was beating a bit fast, almost bluffing him.

"That was sly, Ellis."He muttered.

Nyx eventually made his way back to Ellis' quarters.

He lay on his bed, staring lazily at the ceiling, but he couldn't get Ellis' last words out of his head - "Stop running away."What did that mean? Was he running away? What was he running away from?

Nyx frowned and rolled over, burying his face in the pillow. He hated this feeling, like something was coiled up in his heart, lingering, but he couldn't tell exactly what it was. He'd never been afraid of anything, but Ellis's words unnerved him inexplicably.

"That's annoying."He muttered under his breath, his wings fluttering gently as he eventually closed his eyes and forced himself to sleep.

The next day, Nyx woke up to bright morning light outside his window. He blinked and was just about to roll over and go back to sleep when he felt a familiar wave of magic approach.

Before Nyx could pretend to be asleep, Ellis was standing next to the bed, looking down at him with a cup of hot tea in his hand.

"Get up when you're awake."Ellis's tone was calm, but carried an undeniable undertone.

Nyx muttered, "Just woke up, can't you let me lie down a little longer?"

Ellis glanced at him, ignoring his complaint, and set his teacup directly on the nightstand before sitting on the edge of the bed, his gaze falling critically on Nyx.

"How long do you plan on making a scene?"He asked, his tone not heavy, but with a calmness that gave no place to hide.

Nyx raised an eyebrow, a flicker of defiance in his eyes, but managed a deliberately dodgy smile, "What are you talking about?I'm so good."
