Chapter 65 - Chapter 66.

But Ellis had long ago figured out his tricks and didn't pay any attention to him, just continued to bury his head in his own literature.

The room was quiet for some time, the only sounds being the rustle of a pen tip rubbing against paper and the occasional flip of a book.

Nyx finally couldn't help but speak, "Hey, Ellis."

Ellis didn't look up, "Write."

Nyx bristled, "I just have to ask, why do you have to make me write this?Don't you think it's boring?"

Ellis finally looked up, his gaze calm, "Boring? That's because you don't know enough about it."

Nyx shrugged, "All I know is that magic is my gift, and using it as I please is what demons do."

Ellis trailed off, "Using it as you wish doesn't mean you can use it indiscriminately."

Nyx laughed, a bit of playfulness in his tone, "But demons are naturally chaotic creatures, you want me to control my magic like a human, isn't that putting the cart before the horse?"

Ellis was silent for a moment, seemingly pondering how to answer his question.

After a few seconds, he slowly spoke, "The nature of the Abyss is indeed chaotic, but have you ever thought that truly powerful existences are never dominated by chaos?"

Nyx froze for a moment, frowning slightly, "What do you mean?"

Ellis' tone was unhurried and carried his usual calmness, "You should have heard that your maternal grandfather, also known as Lucifer, was powerful not because he let chaos loose, but because he controlled it."

Nyx was momentarily speechless.Of course he knew that Lucifer was powerful, that was a fact that the entire Abyss could not ignore. But ...

"But that's him."Nyx muttered in a small voice, "It's not like I'm different from him."

"Of course you're different."Ellis looked at him, his tone calm but with a hint of determination, "But you're Nyx.You can choose to make yourself stronger, not just let the magic lead you around."

Nyx lowered his eyes and stared at the pen in his hand, his fingertips twirling it gently. He'd always thought that Ellis had made him write these analyses just to discipline him, but now it seemed like it was more than that.Ellis was seriously teaching him to actually understand his power, not just to utilize it.This realization caused Nyx some indescribable mixed emotions.

After a moment, he sighed and returned his attention to the paper, "Alright, since you're so insistent, I'll reluctantly write again."

Ellis nodded without saying anything else.

The room was quiet again.

This time, instead of being lazy, Nyx was rare and serious. His pen moved quickly on the paper, and although he still occasionally wandered off, overall, he finally wrote this magic utilization analysis a little bit more decently.

By the time he finished writing, it was already dark.

He stretched and tossed the written paper to Ellis, "Alright, alright, turn in."

Ellis took it, glanced at it and nodded, "Much better this time than last time."

Nyx smiled and leaned back in his chair, winking triumphantly, "That's for sure, I'm a genius."

Ellis ignored his boast and simply set the paper aside and stood up, "Finish writing and go eat."

Nyx lazily propped his chin up, "You do?"

Ellis swept him off his feet, "I can have the Academy kitchen bring it to you."

Nyx immediately sat up straight, "You'd better do it then."

Ellis: "..."

He knew that Nyx was picky about his food, but he didn't realize that he was picky to such an extent now.

However, considering that Nix's magic would become more and more specific in its food needs as it grew, he didn't refuse and turned around and walked into the small kitchen.
