Chapter 67 - Chapter 68.

He casually picked up the food on the table and took a bite, then casually asked as he ate, "What do you have planned for today?"

Ellis put down what he was holding and turned to look at him, "Today's lesson is Elemental Magic, you'll be sitting in on it."

Nyx's movements paused, "Why?"

Ellis' tone was light, "You need to understand the human magic system."

Nyx frowned in displeasure, "I don't need that lowly stuff."

Ellis looked at him calmly, his voice as cool as ever, "How can you talk about highs and lows when you can't even control the root of your magic?"

Nyx choked and muttered half-heartedly, "You're going to be pissed off at your own mouth one day."

Ellis was noncommittal, "At least not today."

Nyx rolled his eyes, but resigned himself to continue eating his breakfast and getting ready to go to class later.

A few hours later, the classroom cadets had grown accustomed to Nyx's arrival, and even looked forward to it a bit. After all, ever since this demon came to the academy, every day was never boring.

In today's elemental magic class, the instructor was explaining the use of the fire element, and Nyx was lying on the table, listening drowsily until the instructor asked, "How does the construction of elemental magic differ in the demonic magic system?"

The trainees looked to Nyx, obviously expecting him to give an interesting answer.

Nyx looked up lazily and said slowly, "The difference is simple, human magic is used to protect oneself, while demon magic ..."

He paused, the corner of his mouth curling into a mischievous smile, "It's used to devour everything."

The classroom was momentarily quiet for a second. Then the mentor cleared his throat, "Nyx, please use a more ... academic expression."

Nyx bristled and slowly sat up straight, "Okay, okay, to put it simply, human elemental magic has clear rules and must rely on spells to guide it, whereas demonic magic relies more on one's own magical will, in other words, demonic magic is more free."

The mentor nodded, apparently quite satisfied with this answer.

But Ellis warned in a low voice, "It's not so much free as it is harder to control."

Nyx glanced at him and shrugged without retorting.

The class continued, and in the eyes of the participants, the biggest attraction of the class was no longer the knowledge of magic, but the fight between Nyx and Ellis if anything.

After the class, a few cadets gathered in the corridor of the academy and whispered.

"Have you guys noticed?Mentor Ellis' attitude towards Nyx is really special."

"Yeah, he never indulges others like that."

"And Nix isn't afraid of him at all, and even dares to talk back to him."

"What's more, Mentor Ellis never explains so much to other people, but he'll patiently explain it to Nyx."

"What do you guys think of the two of them ..."

The group of trainees looked at each other in dismay and finally concluded - "Their relationship is really subtle."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Ellis and Nix were walking back to their dormitory.

Nyx casually asked, "Hey, did you hear what those cadets were talking about?"

Ellis: "Don't need to hear it to guess."

Nyx winked and gave a wry smile, "So do you think their guesses are right?"

Ellis glanced at him and said lightly, "You keep out of this."

Nyx grunted, "Fine, then you're not going to deny that they say you're special to me, are you?"

Ellis didn't answer directly, but said in a calm tone, "You're my contracted demon, I'm naturally responsible."
