Nyx raised an eyebrow, "You're trying to say 'hard to discipline' aren't you?"
Albert didn't deny it, just smiled.
Nyx was about to open his mouth again, but then he felt Ellis' gaze faintly sweep over and immediately closed his mouth in a harmless smile, "I do seem special, though, don't I?"
Albert looked at him with interest, then said to Ellis, "There's a small display of contracted demons at tonight's party, your demons should be attending as well, right?"
Before Ellis could say anything, Nyx laughed, "A showcase?Make me perform a talent show?"
Albert's contracted demon spoke, "This is for contracted magicians to better understand their demons."
Nyx snorted, "Oh?Is that so?"
Ellis spoke calmly, "Go on."
Nyx glared at him, "You're actually asking me to go?"
Ellis' gaze was bland, "I thought you said you were special?"
Nyx stared at him, the smile at the corner of his mouth gradually becoming meaningful, "... Ellis, you don't want to regret it."
Ellis had no waves, "No."
On the exhibition site, one after another contracted demons went up to the stage to demonstrate their abilities, some were good at illusions, some could precisely manipulate elements, and some could transform into various forms.
When it was Nyx's turn, the eyes of the entire venue were focused on him.
Nyx stood on the stage and looked around before hooking his lips in a smile."Since this is a display ..." he raised his hand and snapped his fingers, a black mist instantly filled the room.
Everyone froze for a moment, and in the next second, the entire floor of the venue suddenly turned into flowing black mirrors, while everyone's reflections revealed eerie smiles in the mirrors.
The air instantly became chilly, and the contracted demons shivered slightly, while the magicians furrowed their brows as they tried to parse the nature of this magic.
Nyx stood leisurely on the black mirror and lazily laughed, "Now that's a demonic display."
Ellis stood at the foot of the stage, watching the scene, rubbing his brow, knowing that he had indeed underestimated Nyx's wickedness after all.
This kid, for sure, wouldn't let him off the hook.
Black mirrors enveloped the entire venue, people's reflections revealed eerie smiles, and some of the contracted demons even let out uneasy low growls because they weren't accustomed to this kind of abyssal-based magic.
Ellis stood at the bottom of the stage, his expression unchanged, his hands folded as he looked at Nyx on the stage.
"Nyx."He spoke faintly.
Nyx narrowed his eyes, a smirk of mischievous triumph at the corner of his mouth as he lazily turned back, "What's the matter, Ellis?Wasn't the scene shocking enough?"
Ellis' tone remained calm, but those icy eyes were like sharp blades, "Put it away."
Nyx shrugged and snapped his fingers, the black mirrors quickly receded, all the reflections returned to normal, and the gloomy aura in the air dissipated in an instant.
However, most of the magicians present still looked grave, clearly wary of Nyx's earlier display.
Albert laughed softly and broke the silence, "A restless demon indeed."
He then rushed at Ellis, "Ellis, keep an eye on your family's demon!The most promising Grand Magician can't help but control a little demon that isn't even an adult, can he?"
Nyx clasped his arms and raised an eyebrow, "'Restless' is a boring word."
Ellis turned toward the exit, "Let's go."
Nyx froze and hurried to follow, "Hey, leaving so soon?The dinner hasn't even started yet."
"You've drawn enough attention."Ellis said coldly, "No point in staying too long."
Nyx glanced at him with squinted eyes, suddenly conjuring up a nasty smile, "What, you're not worried about me, are you?"
Ellis ignored him and just continued on his way.
On the way back, Nyx casually stretched his limbs on the carriage with a bored look, "Today was kinda fun."
Ellis looked out the window and didn't respond.
Nyx stared at him sideways and suddenly smiled, "Did you think I went too far just now?"
Ellis finally looked at him, his gaze cool and sharp, "You're being provocative."
Nyx shrugged, "I was just showing the real demon."
