Ellis stood in front of him and looked at him calmly, "You know yourself that you don't want to go back to the Abyss."
Nyx narrowed his eyes slightly, a dangerous glint swept under them."What do you think I'm afraid of?"
Ellis didn't answer, but continued, "You don't want to go back, not because you like the human world, but because you know that in the Abyss, you won't be treated as a special being."
Nyx's fingertips lurched slightly.
"There, demons like you who are magically violent are not a minority."Ellis' tone remained smooth, "But here, your magic is alien, your existence is unique. You will not be one of those ordinary demons, you are Mentor Ellis' contracted demon, you are the one and only Nyx."
Nyx stared at him silently, his eyes tumbling with emotion.Of course he knew the rules of the Abyss. There, demons that grew too fast would not be treated specially, they would be devoured by stronger beings or become monsters that lost themselves.Only the demons that survived would truly have the qualification of "adulthood".
Here, he doesn't have to worry about those things. There is no one of his kind who will tear him apart at any time, no laws of the abyss to bind him, no food chain that he must follow. He could be reckless, he could be mischievous, he could use his magic to cause as much trouble as he wanted - but in the end, he couldn't avoid one fact. His magic was growing, and he couldn't control it.
"Ellis."Nyx finally spoke, his voice lower than usual, "What if you can't control me?"
Ellis' answer remained simple."Then I will destroy you."
Nyx was stunned. In the next second, he laughed, as if he had heard some great joke.
"You're a heartless one, Mentor-sama."He tilted his head slightly sideways, his red eyes bright in the moonlight, "But you can't do it."
Ellis didn't deny it or admit it.He simply stepped forward, reached out and pressed his hand to Nyx's forehead and spoke faintly, "Then try."
The longest night had come to the Academy of Magic.
The dome of the sky was drenched in an unsettling dark red magic, the air seemed to freeze, and everywhere there were ripping magical fluctuations that swept across the entire academy like a storm. The defense barrier was trembling madly, like it would shatter in the next second, while the magic formations on the ground were flickering on the verge of collapsing, losing signs of stability.
"Retreat quickly!Don't come any closer!"
The voices of the mentors came out intermittently in the storm. The tower of the Magic Academy had collapsed at one corner, and the ground was cracked open, with a deep gap that seemed like a chasm leading straight into the abyss. The surrounding buildings were torn apart by the chaotic magic, flames burned on the ground, and several trainees collapsed amidst the rubble, their faces still bearing the fear that had not dissipated.
And at the center of all the chaos stood the culprit.
Nyx.
Or rather, it was no longer the Nyx they were familiar with.
He was suspended in mid-air, his black wings completely unfurled, and thick magic power wrapped around him like a black storm. The pupils of his golden eyes had been engulfed in scarlet, and his pupils slightly contracted like a demon overlooking its prey. The magic patterns on his body flickered with the dark light of the abyss, and the black flames flowing from his fingertips engulfed the air; he was like some kind of terrifying existence that was about to break out of its cocoon, unable to be suppressed, unable to be bound.
It wasn't something Nyx wanted.
Ellis knew that. But it didn't matter.
Nyx's magic was out of control, a precursor to the awakening of his bloodline; demons couldn't control their growth, and the human world couldn't afford his rampage. He hadn't fully come of age yet, but his power was beyond the limits of what anyone could handle.
Ellis stepped forward slowly, and the mentors around him instinctively cast complicated glances at him.No one spoke, but all understood his position.Stop Nyx.
